I honestly couldn't give two sh!ts what NE got out of the deal. They're not the fearsome Brady Patriots. They're as irrelevant as the Steelers are right now in the AFC. Maybe even more so. It was a great trade to make and I don't care who they made it with. Well, except for the Ravens or Bungles.

His first rd picks he was batting about .500 in that span but overall I think he was still good. I’d also need to compare his success rate to other GM’s that continually picked in the 15-20 range.

I do think he was too complacent, though. He was reactive and Khan seems to be proactive. If you look at the teams that have been having success lately, it’s the teams that go and get what they want.

Obviously I have no proof round one would have shake’d out the way I said it would have under Colbert but I think its a pretty good bet it would have. You look at the players they like to draft and they would have been all over a CB there or maybe Campbell or Smith or Murphy. All those guys fit the mold of what Colbert and Tomlin liked. There are outliers obviously, they took Harris in ‘21 but that’s not the norm. Add in the fact they had fewer draft picks this year, I think they sit pat and take Porter.

Can’t wait to see what he does tonight!

I don't know if you meant to quote me or the person who actually stated his character was "questionable" which was the person I was responding to??Either way one incident/mistake doesn't define a person's character regardless of whether the one incident/mistake ended in a persons demise, or not. That's why this particular incident concluded with a misdemeanor and not a felony because he's not a repeat offender and it was determined there was nothing intentional about his actions. They were racing cars and apparently the other driver lost control of their car. That's it and that's that. I don't even see a true character issue there other than a lack of maturity.

I heard on a podcast this morning dk sports(so someone with access to the team) the Steelers had a deal on the table with the Texans last year, but the Texans balked at the last minute. Apparently the Steelers were trading up for Pickett

In another car. Rather important detail you’re leaving out.

It’s massive character flaw if you are that reckless with other peoples lives.

First of all the people who died were in another car. The other driver was driving drunk...not Jalen. theres no indication (that i know of) that he knew that the other driver was drinking, or at minimum that they were twice above the legal limit. His driving fast in basically a residential area was reckless, but that's something that can easily be fixed. That's not a massive character flaw...get real. Being accused of repeat sexual assaults is a massive character flaw...which most people on this board seemed to have no issue with when it pertained to their hero qb. How many people who said that driving fast is a major character flaw have been issued speeding tickets?? Do you consider yourself to have a major character flaw because you've gotten 1 or 2 speeding tickets?? What about those of you who have sped or raced in a car, but not been caught...same with you??

I know he was in a different car, he was racing them. They weren’t moseying along at 15 mph.

When you race you put innocent bystanders lives at stake, it’s selfish, it’s reckless and quite frankly the behavior of an ahole. Can’t believe people are making excuses for him.

Can he change, certainly but it’s absolutely a character flaw.

No one is making excuses, but some people know not to blow incidents out of proportion either. Case and point... you previously characterized his actions as a "massive" character flaw before. Now its just a character flaw. Were you assuming he does this all the time to say its a "massive" character flaw? Or did you have evidence of such?? I dont think you left off massive this time by accident. Aside from that, you're saying you've never sped in your car or got a speeding ticket in your life?? If so, do you believe you have a "massive" character flaw because you have??

OMar needs to win a single game first and at the moment get us more picks.
Junior is a no go at 32.

Bro, obviously it wasn't new for me. I gave you specific and FACTUAL examples over the years. I even gave you speculation about how teams need trading partners ect.

I can go further and say the NFL "mind sets" changed since Colbert became the GM.

Colbert was on board with giving up a 1st round pick to acquire for Fitz when Ben went down.

Colbert was aggressive when needed and also flexible as a GM/pres when the circumstances dictated.

You can believe what you want regardless of the facts I presented.

Maybe Tomlin is running the personnel show? We will never know the inner workings of the Steelers.

What I know is 100% FACT is that nothing happens without Rooney's approval.

Forgive me, I didn’t use the same exact words, I left out massive, lol, ffs. It’s a massive flaw, happy now.

Blow an incident out of proportion? Wow, 2 people died.

No, I have never raced any where let alone through a town or residential area. Don’t remember where Carter was racing exactly. And are you really equating going over the speed limit to racing at 100mph??? Really? And no, never got a speeding ticket. Only tickets I ever got were registration. The cars I have owned haven’t exactly been street racing wheels. Closet sports car I ever owned was a Ventura and that thing would have fell out of its frame if I tried to race it.

On the NFL Network this afternoon the talk was about how the Jets coveted Jones only to be screwed by Belichick and Jones became a Steeler. Scott Peoli the former Patriot GM was on telling about how they also screwed the Jets in 2001 to get Matt Light, who became a Pro-Bowl tackle for them. The Pats had the 50th overall pick and called Light around pick #45 and told him that they were taking him at #50. Light told Peoli that he had the Jets on hold who were picking him at #49. Peoli told Light to not tell the Jets that he had spoken to him. He then got on the phone to Matt Millen and the Lions who had pick #48. Peoli said he was shocked that all Millen wanted was a 6th round pick to swap places. So the Patriots traded up to #48 and stole Matt Light from under the noses of the Jets. It was interesting to hear some behind the scenes drama that goes into a draft trade.

Bro it is new but tell yourself what you want, tell yourself in this little sample size we have of Khan that he’s operating the same as Colbert.

Believe what you want. Very real chance they trade again tonight but that won’t be new either, right.

2 people died that was determined not to be his fault... so yeah...it's being blown out of proportion pertaining to him. I ve never heard someone classify someone who speeds as having a massive character flaw. Maybe a lead foot, but not a massive character flaw. I would assume at the very least there would be proof he does it all the time before characterizing the behavior as a massive character flaw. You mind telling me other incidents where he has been cited for similar behavior, because im assuming you know something the rest of us don't??

Yeah he kept his mouth shut and didn't say a word to the Jets about his talk with NE.

I don't believe what I want. I gave you FACTS.

Yeah one year "small sample size" doesn't equate to 22 years and the facts I presented.

You want speculation? Kahn isn't running the Steelers draft decisions. Tomlin is the HMIC when it comes to the draft. Ask Wex.

Who do you think those people were racing? His actions contributed to their deaths. Blown out of proportion, two people lost their lives, what an effed up thing to say.

What other flaws? Showing up to his pro day looking like you spent the night drinking and not even finishing his testing. Or telling teams you won’t visit with them if they are outside the top 10. Some teams reportedly took him off their boards. I’ve also seen where he doesn’t put the work in and only likes to show up on game day but you’re right, he’s a gem, no character flaws.

You cherry picked a few instances over the span of 22 years while ignoring their normal MO year in and year out.

Weidl set the board, Khan and Tomlin make the picks. Again, I don’t recall Tomlin ever calling Colbert aggressive, right there is all you need to know things will be different.

Effed up thing to say?? If it was true he contributed to their deaths he would be in prison right now. Extra much?? Take it down a notch.

    - He can dictate whoever he chooses he wants to talk to...it's no different them a QB complaining about a team he got drafted to and demanding a trade. I guess Eli Manning had serious character flaws.

-a lot of players skip out on pro days period.

Nothing you've stated say character flaws...just a lit of get off my lawn garbage.

I think it's a good pick. I just don't like what We gave , or who We helped. That's all. I never get the picks I want. I would never root against them for it. For the Falcons fan to suggest it makes Me want to crush Him with His flat earth map. LoL
