Dam right. I want the guy that can stick with the TE's across the middle. We get picked apart with that.

If I'm a receiver, I'd feel much better about playing with Kenny Pickett over the next 5 years than Lamar Jackson.

They were saying on ESPN this morning that the new Ravens OC doesn't want Jackson to take off and run unless necessary. He wants him to stay in the pocket and throw the football. I say that is good news the only way Jackson can win is with his legs, take that away and he is a below average QB.

I keep reading analysis of the pick that talk about Jones being raw. Where did that come from?

He hasn't heard anything. He was just opining (guessing), as he eluded to.

He did not start that many games (19), and he is only 21.
    But watch his highlights and 2 things will jump off the screen;
    1. He can really, really run. He will be great on screens and if we want him to pull
    2. He is the leanest 311 pounds you will ever see.

As to point 2, Jones will easily put on 20 pounds his first year and you won’t even notice a difference in his physique. Watch his highlights and you will think he is 250 pounds, not 311.

I can't believe we got Jones, Against SEC defenses He was the stud on the OL as Carter was on the DL. LT for two National Championships.

    https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Broderick-Jones-OL-Georgia

Broderick Jones is probably the best athlete in the entire offensive line class, he's very strong, has elite core strength, cat-like quickness, and has the speed of a tight end
    • In 2020 as a freshman Jones saw action in just 2 games and played a total of 25 snaps for the Bulldogs.
    • As a sophomore in 2021 he played in 11 games and a total of 434 snaps. He conceded 5 QB hurries, one QB hit, and 2 sacks while playing most of his snaps at left tackle.
    • In 2022 as a junior Jones saw action in 13 games and totaled 805 snaps. He gave up 8 QB hurries, just one QB hit and allowed no sacks while playing at left tackle.

Like I said, rumors. Maybe read something here. Probably shouldn't have even mentioned it since I can't put a finger on anything tangible. Not trying to stir up crap. I like the pick and hope he's the stud LT we need to protect KP's blind side for many years to come.

That all sounds great, except he can't hit the broad side of a barn.

I still remember a couple years back, where a couple wr's decided to jump into the QB skills competition, for the hell of it, and crushed him in the accuracy portion. He couldn't throw the ball through a stationary tire from 10 yards away. I was literally shocked at how useless this guy is if he has to throw from the pocket on a consistent basis.

Say what you want about Vick, cause he's always compared to him, Vick was a better runner, better arm talent, and way more accurate. There are very few guys I enjoyed watching more than Vick in the early 2000's. The Green Bay game was absolutely ridiculous. It's a shame that he was a scumbag, cause his trajectory before the scandal was straight up.

Sorry about the tangent. I digress. Lamar sucks! :roflmao:

I go Porter at 32 and hope to get lucky and get branch at 49 or even move up from 49 to get him. It won't happen, but I go Porter at 32 regardless. We have opportunity right in front of us to get both Jones and Porter. Love it!!

I’m certainly no scout, but from the tape I’ve watched his pass pro is not ready for prime-time. He shuffles really well and stays square but lets too many people into his grill. Should be easily fixable but his hand/punch usage is a little off timing-wise. Ugh I’m not explaining it very well.

If Tunch was still with us, he would fix this in one offseason

    I like the pick.
