    1. Panthers: Bryce Young---- went out and got their guy
    Grade ---- A

2/3. Texans: CJ Stroud/ Will Anderson----- these guys aren't playing around.. got their guy on offense and defense
    Grade ----- A+

4 Colts: Anthony Richardson --- got their guy.... Is he ready??? Doubt it, but he has a good team around him, so he won't be asked to do too much
    Grade ----- A

5/20. Seahawks: Devon Witherspoon/ Jackson Smith Njigba ---- bookending with Tariq Woolen.,. These guys are gonna be tough to throw on .... On the flip side, that offense is becoming scary
    Grade ---- A

    6. Cardinals: Paris Johnson ----- personally, I thought it was a bit high, but losing Kyler Murray last yr easily put them in panic mode.... Still a good pick for them in a spot where they had dyer need
    Grade ---- B+

    7. Raiders: Tyree Wilson ----- Good pick overall, but I have doubts about his full effectiveness at the next level
    Grade: C+

    8. Falcons: Bijon Robinson ---- first major surprise of the draft.... Definitely a position of need for them, but at #8 ???? They still need help all over the defense, and we're still not sure about Desmond Ridder, or who will catch the ball opposite Drake London..... That said, Robinson will have a great career for them... I just believe they would've been better served trading down and getting defensive help first
    Grade: C+

9/30. Eagles: Jalen Carter/ Nolan Smith ---- the rich just keep getting richer
    Grade: A+

    10. Chicago: Darnell Wright ---- clearly looking to get meaner up front.... Still surprised it wasn't Skoronski
    Grade: B-

    11. Titans: Pete Skoronski ---- whether he plays LT or moves inside to guard, he fills a position of need for them...
    Grade: B+

12/18. Lions: Jahmyr Gibbs / Jack Campbell ---- Detroit look to be building something special here
    Grade: A

    13. Packers: Lucas Van Ness ---- will make a Clay Matthews type of impact on the defense, but what happened to making life easier for Jordan Love
    Grade: B-

    14. Steelers: Broderick Jones ---- moved up and got their blindside protector.... Games are won up front, and this pick was a long time coming
    Grade: A

    15. Jets: Will McDonald ---- when your even remotely successful, you lose the ability to sneak up on people.. Pitt snatched Jones up right in front of them, so instead of getting Aaron Rodgers a blind side protector, they had to settle on attacking the blindside
    Grade: C+

    16. Commanders: Emmanuel Forbes ---. Good ball skills, but 170 lb defenders just don't get drafted in the 1st Rd.... Until he hits the weight rm, Twiggy may have some trouble matching up at the next level
    Grade: D-

    17. Patriots: Christian Gonzalez ---- the pats are turning into the CB whisperers, and they got a good one here
    Grade: A

    19. BUCS: kalijah Cancey ---- excellent pick for a team looking to get dominant up front again
    Grade: A+

    21. Chargers: Quentin Johnston ---- very tough receiver that fills a need for them... This kid's gonna be a good one
    Grade: A

    22. Ravens: Zay Flowers ---- diminutive speedster to replace the diminutive speedster that they threw away.... This was all about making Lamar Jackson happy.... They would've been better served going defense
    Grade: C

    23. Vikings: Jordan Addison ----. Absolutely had to happen
    Grade: A

    24. Giants: Deonte Banks ---- superb athlete at the position that should develop well
    Grade: A-

    25. Bills: Dalton Kinkaid ---- just filled one of the few needs they have
    Grade: A

    26. Cowboys: Mazi Smith ---- powerful defender in the middle that will make a tough Dallas defense even tougher
    Grade: A-

    27. Jags: Anton Harrison ---- a slight reach for the first Rd, but protecting sunshine had to be a priority
    Grade: B-

    28. Bengals: Myles Murphy --- lost out on 1st Rd worthy blocker for Joe burrow, so they settle on creating havoc on the other side.
    Grade: B-

    29. Saints: Bryan Bresee ---- should be highly effective next to Cam Jordan
    Grade: A

    31. Chiefs: Felix Anudike-Uzomah ---- a reach for the 1st Rd, but when you're the defending champs, your needs aren't too great
    Grade: B

Failclowns pick made no sense. They have cordelle Patterson, who is versatile like the guy they picked tonight.

And they also have algier who started week 5 and still put up a 1,000 years season.

They've been losers since 2017 for a reason.

    Draft grade is a D-

I like the write-up aside from the Ravens bit. I think Flowers by the Dick Cravin Ravens was a top-5 best selection of the entire draft. He's a perfect complement for the WR room and should fit seamlessly in the slot.

Disagree with the Falcons pick personally.

Bijan Robinson should not be looked at as a traditional Running Back. He is more of the "Christian McCaffrey" mold; an Offensive Weapon. This is not including an underrated Falcons Offensive Line (one that excels at Run Blocking I might add), Drake London and Kyle Pitts as well. All in all, this just makes the Atlanta Falcons an absolute pain in the ass to contend with as there are so many ways now to utilize so many of those aforementioned Offensive Weapons in so many ways.

I still like Lukas Van Ness... I just don't like the fact that the Packers still don't elect to pick a Wide Receiver in Round One. Yes, there are still good WRs available... but not too many have the route running capabilities that JSN does.

I believe that Emmanuel Forbes' grade will ultimately be based on how well he can hold up as mentioned by @blackandgoldpatrol@blackandgoldpatrol. The talent and playmaker ability cannot be faulted. Really a toss up grade here.

Todd Monken is being overlooked for the Ravens Offense. It will be interesting to see what Monken can do with Lamar. Zayed Flowers though does possess number one WR potential. It is all about how he will be used. Again, another Wild Card pick but more so on OC than player.

Finally, strongly disagree on Tyree Wilson. Chandler Jones' best days may be behind him. In addition, Tyree Wilson is not the second coming od Clelin Ferrell as Wilson's ceiling and talent are at a level that Ferrell never had when he entered back in 2019.

    Favorite non Steelers pick:

Bucs. You’ll be hearing a lot about Kancey. Great pickup for that defense.

    Worst Pick:

Washington. Maybe the biggest reach I have seen, Forbes is a 3rd rd pick. Yikes.

    Glad they didn’t take pick:

Buffalo. Much rather them have Kincaid than Mayer.

Cordselle Patterson? A 30something journeyman vs a blue chip prospect? Come on now. I don't value their outside to inside drafting philosophy, but Patterson is not comparable to Bijan

I had 4 guys in hopes the Steelers might pick in the 2nd round. All 4 went in the 1st round.

Forbes, Will McDonald, Mazi Smith and Jack Campbell.

I can't say I disagree with any of the teams who took them. Their tapes are just better than a lot of the folks in the consensus top 30.

Giving the Lions an A? Even the Lions message boards are giving it a C-, when they're feeling generous. Lot's of F's out there for both picks.

Please educate me.... I haven't studied anything this year..... explain the Steelers pick and move up in the 1st. Was this a good pick? As an amateur with no studying on this year's draft, I'm scratching my head about picking the 4th best tackle in the draft and moving up to get him. I'm very hopeful he works out great for us, just curious for some educated opinions. Thanks

For me the worst pick of the first round was the Colts taking Anthony Richardson. He is nothing more than Jamarcus Russell with wheels.

Man, giving the Lions an A is extremely generous.

Gibbs at 12? He's not a bell cow. He's probably looking at 10-15 carries a game, and catch 3-5 balls a game. He probably wouldn't hold up to more than that. I don't even think he's 200 lbs.

And I like Captain Jack, but I don't know how good the value is at 18? He had a nice combine, but before that he was kind of a late 2nd-3rd rd prospect universally.

They might become very good players but giving snap draft grades is largely dependent on value and need. Based on all metrics I've seen, the value was not good for either player.

I know our needs aren't exactly the same, but if the Steelrs had the 12th and 18th overall pick in this draft and came away with Gibbs and Campbell, I'd be pretty pissed.

Looking around, the Lions are getting mostly C's and D's from most major sources.

First, whether or not he's the 4th best T or not is subjective, but even if he was considered that, it's largely based on his polish. He's not as finished a product as the other guys. He's only 21. But, his upside is immense. He's super athletic, long, and mean. He needs to bulk up a bit and refine his game like most rookies do.

He was my favorite OT in the draft. Giving up a 4th wasn't bad. It's magnified because of the fact that they already don't have a 5th or 6th rounder.

Was hoping Campbell would drop to 2nd rd. 18 was a little high, I had him late first, 2nd rd the latest. I think he will be really good. Would have loved to have gotten him today.

Another thing I left off... you nailed it. Another surprise of the night was the Washington pick, why Forbes over Gonzalez? That's a head scratcher.

    16. Commanders: Emmanuel Forbes ---. Good ball skills, but 170 lb defenders just don't get drafted in the 1st Rd.... Until he hits the weight rm, Twiggy may have some trouble matching up at the next level
    Grade: D-

    17. Patriots: Christian Gonzalez ---- the pats are turning into the CB whisperers, and they got a good one here
    Grade: A

Too many A's in the grading, although full disclosure, I don't agree with any grading until end of 2023 NFL season. I could say some 'promising' picks. I am skeptical on the 1st pick too... and as mentioned I thought the Colts would go with Levis.

    Final thoughts on 1st Rd:

the falcons and commanders are probably fighting for the top spots in the 2024 draft ..

Will Levis's plunge didn't surprise me one bit.... His college production just wasn't there... I strongly feel that his pro comparison is closer to Kyle Boller than anyone highly successful

Joey Porter Jr just sitting there waiting on us with the 1st pick in the 2nd Rd is a dream come true...... We absolutely have to take him.... The real test is at #49 and the 3rd Rd..... We still need that space eater in the middle of the defense, and we still need a freak at ILB., I feel that these are our next 2 targets, in no particular order

I would be very happy with Porter at 32 and Drew Sanders at 49. Trenton Simpson could be good at 49, too.

He also has another 5 TD with receiving.

He might be aheing, but he works. And Algier is a solid player for them..... what's worse is for 20 years they've been a joke on defense with pass rushing. They haven't had a single player get double digit sacks in over a decade. And rank between 28-32 almost every year.

So yeah, it is very stupid what they've done.

Steelers moved up to get an OT. I remember you saying that none of the OTs were worth moving up for. So what do you think about Steelers moving up to get Jones?

I mentioned this on another thread. My concern was that it would cost too much. I thought it would take one of their second-rounders or their third to move up into or near the top 10. I have less of a problem with them only giving up the fourth-round pick. I also think they got the best left tackle in the draft, so I'm warming up to the pick. My issue is that I would rather they had taken Gonzalez.
