Had to put this here. If he's wondering why he's not getting more guaranteed money. IIRC didn't the Dolphins defend him for a whole game playing cover zero?

With the Hurt signing, is Lamar bringing Hurt's sister in for his contract negotiations?

Jackson will be playing in Baltimore this year. He'll make a paltry 35 million I feel bad for the guy

I’m very stoked about this! LJ taking a big chunk of cap space puts so much pressure on them to build the rest of the team without a lot of cap room. He’s always had talent around him, but now he’s going to need to do more with less. I don’t think he’s up it.

Keep seeing people squawk about how he did it without an agent. As if they don’t remember he wanted a fully guaranteed contract.

Meh, it's not fully guaranteed like I was hoping.
THAT would've been the dagger, but the Ravens are too smart to do something so stupid.
I guess Lamar officially lost and the Union is probably pissed because in the larger picture, fully guaranteed deals of long term and high dollar amounts are done.

Speculation is now that they'll trade for Hopkins tonight and if they structured this deal right, they can probably afford him for a year or two, so they will be going for broke the next few years.
It still needs to be determined that LJ can be a GOOD traditional type QB, and given that he's got to learn a whole new system with new players, there will be a learning curve, regardless if he can be that type of QB or not. Even Brady took 1/2 a season to get comfortable in Tampa.
Looking forward, I get the feeling that they're going to be disappointed this season. Lots of names and flash and not a lot of production, just in time for OBJs one year deal to expire.

You are wrong like crazy....Structure of the contract is always important and I would not be surprised if he has some voided years in his contract who will help the ravens in the 5 years with Lamar....It will hurt in 2028 and after that if they do this but who care about 2028 right now!.....They could added DeAndre Hopkins too

Its a 5 year deal, there are no void years, can they extend at the end and re-work the contract..certainly, bottom line that 185 million, plus whatever else comes due at the time has to be accounted for, if they squeezed less this year to get a Hopkins under the CAP its shows they are all in for the short term, but the due date will hit. The CAP is expected to up significantly in the coming years and a lot of teams are banking on this, a few years ago 35 million, then 40 million was breathtaking, now we are talking 55 to 60.

If he had an agent, I don’t think he’d have done better.

Yeah,Lamar will not be the highest paid QB for long and some worst QB that him is going to have a bigger contract in the next few years than Lamar....it's always how it works...For the all-in, if rams are any indication, you can go all-in for 5 years before paying a price and the rams have been on the extreme like crazy...I don't think the ravens will do the same thing and I think Lamar's contract will be manageable

I'm not going to disagree, the Ravens Organization has been very sound, it is what it is, you pay the QB or you go looking for another. The biggest concern with all that cash is can he stay healthy??? It's not only him, but the way he plays only adds to the long term issue.

Was hoping they’d fully guarantee his contract, but $185MM will gobble up a good chunk of cap space. The Rats can sign all of the receivers they want but the fact is they don’t have a receiver friendly quarterback. LJ is a one read, running quarterback who relies heavily on check downs to the TE or RB and is not comfortable enough in the pocket to allow time for routes to develop and receivers to break open. Glad they signed him to a mega contract. :thumbs up::lolol:

What numbers are you hearing for Jackson? If he got 260 thats more than Watson. It’s just that all of Watsons 230 was guaranteed. Yes?

Yes that what I'm talking about the Guarantees. All of Watson contract is Guaranteed 230 million I think only 185 million of Lamar will be. Thats quite a big difference. I still remember all the TV personality saying He would definitely get it. LoL

That's like 18.5 cents to these guys.

On a side note my pay reflects $XX.4450 on my pay stub. I mean would it really break my company if they gave me that extra 1/2 cent?
