Just saw Yahoo NFL has us trading up to pick 8 with Atlanta and getting first OT in the draft selecting Paris Johnson.

 

So,good chance the steelers will trade up for a top OL!

 

It will be a huge curveball if the steelers draft a WR!

I've been saying it all month. No qbs will be taken till 20 like last yr and I'm sticking with that based on what I've been told on this board.

 

Agreed. If they want Gonzalez, they are going to have to trade up. In fact, he and Witherspoon are the only guys I would want to see them trade up to get. I don't think any of the tackles are worth what it would cost to trade into the top 10.

I'm coming around to the idea of Banks as the fall-back if the top four tackles and top three corners are all gone. I wouldn't even hate it if they took him over Porter.

Great qbs get passed on and taken late in the 20s. Teams don't reach for qbs anymore.

 

I'm more nervous than normal. I know the draft is often a crapshoot but the Steelers, in my opinion at least, are fairly close to competing. They filled a number of holes this off-season and a good draft puts them in decent territory moving forward.

Personally, I am hoping to stand pat but I'm starting to feel like they will move up.
Chicago is supposedly keeping their spot. That leaves Houston, Zona and the Raiders as potential partners.

You mean, right after they say "The Pittsburgh Steelers is in", announce his name, and then break away for commercial? Only to return and say "The Lions pick is in, lets discus how Joe Blow was such a great pick for Detroit"?

 

A) if we pick Porter, it's only because of his dad
B) if we pick Deonte Banks, it's only because he's from Maryland and Tomlin is in the tank for Maryland players.

And the same people who think they'd pick Porter because of his name are the same one's that thought we were only picking Watt because of his brother.
