2023 Steelers Pre Draft Conference Thread!!

Steelers need help at LT, CB, DT and MLB. They could accomplish with first 4 picks if they felt the players available we be worth taking the first three rounds. Who knows, the Steelers could trade the 32nd pick for a quality player that fits their need and get an additional pick in a later round .

If some team pulls a Ditka, then yes. A fool and his picks shall soon part ways.
The 32nd pick is not bad by any means, but I've heard some talk that makes it sound like the 1st pick.

Yea, it's a strange class.... Very weak 1st round but very deep 2-4th round.

 

i agree fully. the only thing we don't get is the 5th year option and the price.

 

Particulary disturbing to me, is the mixed signals I have heard whispered.

The draft can go several ways with a run on QB's early and Zona wanting to drop spots.
At 17 - I know the Front Office is thinking OT and it certainly is not unthinkable that a good OT could drop within reach should the QB run happen.
Should it go conservatively (an equally radical thought) some say Tomlin is eyeing DL, like a NT or DE.
I side with the Front Office. If the QB doesn't happen, you can certainly grab a CB at 17.

I'm not sure of that. Just because they say it ....doesn't make it true. They(media, and draft experts)have been wrong many....many times.
JMO....I see 3 CBs, 2 SS, and 2 DL I would love to have, and no freaking way are they all gone by the 17, or 32 pick. Of course....I could be totally wrong also....So....

Please tell me there is no possibility that the Ratbirds trade Jackson to move way up in the draft ahead of us, even if we traded up.

 

I have heard this comment about their being only 15 players worthy of a 1st round pick and then about 100 players worthy of a second round pick. I am assuming that is why they are calling it a deep draft class this year,

 

I think it is to late for that. I heard Green Bay and the Jets are going to go down to the wire trying to get the Aaron Rodgers Trade Finalized in time for the draft.

 

Feels like they will draft an OT after the additions of the WR and CB through FA/trade. The more I look at the CB draft class the less impressed I get. I do think if Zay Flowers is still on the board he would be a terrific value pick..as well as Bijan if he were still there too.

 

Which two ss and dl? To me there’s only one safety worth a first round pick and that’s branch. He’s even a little small imo. Defensive line is Carter and basically only Carter. Bresee maybe as a late first, but I would fell better about him with pick 32. Most of the offensive tackles have question marks or are better suited as a guard. Wide receiver there’s n’jigba and flowers. The former Pitt guy is a second imo

 

If the Steelers want to get one of the top tackles in the draft, they probably need to get ahead of the Jets and Patriots.

Who gives a crap about 5th and 6th rd picks? Those players are usually a coin toss to even make the team out of camp. We need quality now if you could turn the 32nd pick into say pick 40 and 70 maybe you do something like that?

Don't be surprised to see a Reindeer sighting again. Their are also a lot of FA QB's hanging out there.

Trading 32 can land them several picks due to the position being slated as a 1st round pick.

I believe they might trade up for Jones, Witherspoon or Gonzalez.

Dangle Dotson for a 4th or 5th. I hope he is traded.

Both Khan and Tomlin said a bunch of nothing sans the 32nd pick excitement.
