I had high hopes for Moncrief. He was a good WR for the Colts.

Not really giving up anything significant, a swap of late round picks. Robinson is coming off an injury, so if he recovers to anything like his earlier self it is gravy. His play the last two years has not been awful, just limited. I don’t understand cap space very well but surely there is a way for the Steelers to get out of that 2024 cap hit or there is no way they would have done the deal.
He might well be a productive player in limited playing time, which is fine.
I don’t think this move precludes them from taking a wide receiver in the draft.

How quickly the Steelers wide receiver room went from a strength to a position of need!

Guy was good 3 years ago he’s 30 now doubt this will make any real impact but we did need WR depth. If he can actually stay healthy might not be horrible.

I got to use my "Donte Concrete" Meme as my profile picture for a while, so I can't say he didn't do anything good for me specifically while he was a Steeler LMAO

NFL Network said swap 7th round picks, and We are picking up only 5 million of His contract....also it's a done deal if He passes the physical tomorrow. If someone else wrote this already.....I'm sorry.

I don't think he is a fit, either, but what sort of interest did you expect them to show? Weren't they at the Pitt pro day? I doubt they needed to bring him in for a visit.

Without a healthy Stafford, McVeigh’s offense last year was garbage.

Rams are still in cap dump. Nobody would take Him if they didn't pay, and they would be caught with it all.

Probably because they were paying him $15 million dollars to not totally click in the offense then get hurt. The Rams are gonna suck next year, so they're just looking to clear cap and he's an easy target for them.

I'm not expecting the 1400 yard 14TD Robinson to magically appear, but if he's healthy I think its worth a flier to get 600-700 yards out of him from the slot.

7 TD's and 9 Interceptions for an ENTIRE season...Says otherwise...

And Stafford is a borderline HOF QB...What are you talking about

A veteran presence. Not a bad deal if he can stay healthy.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking as well. Anytime you have more picks than TDs that's not a good thing. Our offense was quite offensive.

I’m guessing you are skipping the part where he was a rookie and improved steadily

And skipping the part where 7 of those interceptions were in his first 4 NFL games ever then he only threw 2 in an entire second half of a NFL season

But that doesn’t fit your cranky dislike for the guy

    And I know cranky :drinks:

Now that I know we can cut him and have zero liability. It's all good. Generally I'm not a fan of picking up players who used to be great but have been crap for a minute. And he fits that bill.

But for 5 million and an opportunity to cut with no liability. I'm ok with it

That said, it doesn't excite me. I've been watching clips of him in St Louis to get myself excited that he still has something and really was just in a bad situation. I'm slowly getting there.

Good thing is if he sux, we can cut and run.

if he can add a few TD's from the redzone that would be a win. See Play #2 in this highlight reel
