Would you do it for 1 of your special CBs in the draft?

I would do it for 1 of the top 3 LTs, but that would kind of be like robbing Peter to pay Paul. If the Steelers trade away Defense, then they should get Defense in return. I am keeping DJ for another year as he still has 2 years left on his contract.

    No.
I'm with everyone that believes creating holes in order to fill holes is not the way . Especially with a somewhat proven Young player. JMO

Best player in the draft, so I'd be pretty stoked if they got Jalen Carter while just swapping first and sending, hopefully just our later 2nd and/or next years 2nd and a 3rd this year.

Both are overpays according to most trade value sheets. Now if you think Diontae is just worth a 3rd or 4th, then yeah, we'd have to fork over our first to move up to 9. Generally, draft pick only trade talks about getting pick 9 for our pick 17 and pick 49. I'd argue Diontae is worth more than pick 49, so our first and Diontae for pick 9 is an overpay, but I could live with. It should probably be pick 17 and Diontae for pick 9 and pick 103 or 133 at worst.

First and 49 are equal in points.

Abs even though i would let dj go and the #17 to go to #9. Its hard to imagine we're ok with no Claypool, no dj. And I with riding with pickens and meh behind him.

I like highsmith a lot. And cap space is increasing stupid high every season. So it's easy to back load it.

Highsmith is proven. I like the guy. I don't want to see him go. Unless Chicago will throw in #9 and their 3rd pick.

    Yep.

For me, he has an even higher boom bust capability than Anthony Richardson. Yes, accuracy, anticipation and poise are traits that a QB must have but they are not impossible to obtain. Much of Anthony's shortcomings lie within his mechanics. Having him learn those will amplify his tremendous capabilities.

Should he able to hone those skills?!?!.... with his skillset?!?!... look out!!.....

.... though that can be said for every Super freak level prospect everyone on this board has ever studied ever. Those that have both the super freak athleticism to go with the advanced technqiuea of their position are usually either Top 10 to Top 5 picks. :lolol:

I wasn't questioning AB's work ethic. I was referring to character issues in general. I believe both AB and Carter have character flaws that can offset their talent. They just have different sets of issues.

Probably would be 17 + 32 pick to move up to 9. Most mock drafts I saw have 3 QB`s going before 9th. So if you are sitting at 9th, only 5 non QB`s probably get taken and that probably has to leave an elite player we want available at 9.

I could live with that move because it should turn out great, but it`s a big bet on one guy.

100% against giving up #32 to move up to #9. That is 2 starters for the next 4 years on rookie contracts that you are giving up for 1 player.

I am expecting big things from that #32 pick. Super excited for that first pick on day 2, because someone is going to fall to that pick that you would have never expected to be there in the 2nd round when the draft began.

trade value says that is severally off. Chicago would win that trade big time.

I know you weren’t. I was pointing out that Carter will never be an elite player, he’s lazy.

In terms of pure talent, absolutely. He's incredible. But I've seen enough of the off-the-field drama. I'm sick of it.

It’s not talent, it’s his head and he is lazy. I think he has huge bust potential.

It's one incident. It sucks, but one thing is he turned himself in. Some people do stupid crap. And his is one of a very hard one to swallow. He'll be reminded every day to not do even the slightest bit.

Also steelers while being steelers have a history of one of the best locker rooms.
