Not sure “weak” is the correct term. A blogger quoting a YouTuber is hardly a legit source.

 

This is sort of based on a guess.
There is a stage where teams like to gauge their possibilities.
They want to know who their partners would be and who is not.

The passage about 'trading up or trading down' was particularly telling.

Right now, OT is the thinnest spot. It's an obvious tip of the hand.
CB is also on the wish list.

 

Just add in an Influencer and the source is way out in left field. Unfortunately, people actually think these are worthy jobs these days.

There is teeth to the story. It’s talks about a possible draft day trade. With only 15 min of clock time and such impactful decisions needing to be made, pre-trade talks are almost a necessity.

When the Steelers traded up for Troy P. They got the ONLY HOFer of that draft class.


Why would the Steelers trade up to no. 9?
Because they believe they would get a potential ( blue chip player ) HOF type player at a key position of need…….. Hhmmm…….. could it be CB Gonzalez ???

The AFC is loaded with TOP QB/WR combos and with the rules of the game favoring the Offense ( high scoring Superbowls ) we could really use a TOP Number Corner. We have pass rush and backend secondary so it makes sense.

True…the fact is the Steelers have probably had conversations with multiple teams about moving up AND moving back.

 

I’ve been touting OT with the first pick but I’m warming up the idea of CB if we could snag somebody like Gonzalez.

 

Moving up and giving up later round picks would be a total waste. Thought Steelers learned their lesson with Bush. Steelers are in better shape draft-wise than they've been in years. With picks 17 and 32... they pretty much have 2 first round draft picks. They had better take advantage.

I agree. The Steelers have no picks in rounds 4, 5 and 6 so giving up additional picks to move up would be perplexing. I’d prefer that we move back and pick up additional picks. UNLESS…you feel as though there’s another Troy P (at the player’s respective position) available for the taking. Gonzalez may be that guy. One of the LTs could be as well.

 

there is also talk of moving daniels as well. witherspoon? maybe a package deal of some sort. it doesn't have to be DJ. if it is DJ it doesn't mean we can't pick up a vet at some point with a draft pick.

i agree dotson could be traded as well. maybe they are serious about adding interior O-Linemen. torrance? if they move up i think it's for gonzales though.

 

In the YouTube video he actually goes on to say that all teams are calling each other to check on possibilities.

There is no actual talk of moving Daniels. An unarmed nfl scout or gm was speculating that the Steelers could trade Daniels. As per the usual with these things people ignored the details and a rumor was spawned

 

I would trade firsts and Dj. Maybe throw in a 4th next year, but I wouldn't trade away our 32

 

Why stop there. I’d prefer they just choose a Joe Thomas guy and be done with it. WTH are they waiting for?
