They do have more info on Wren than a Draft Pick; him being a cast off from Cincy and then subsequently Philly. The draft pick however, possess greater potential by default due to how much more of a ceiling they have in comparison. Even if it is a fourth round pick, that still means there is still time for that pick to develop. Wren is on borrowed time.

Hate to disappoint those who were rooting for an Adam Thielen signing. Panthers picked him up as a safety valve for their new QB.

You don't think Wren has developed or still can? He's kind of on the same trajectory as wormley was early.

Never said he couldn't. All I am stating is that his time to do so is limited. That pick though will possess more time to be something greater. Between me and you, I honestly wished the team would sign Wren to the 53 already as Johnathan Marshall currently is.

I don't think that was ever realistic. I certainly don't think they were going to give a 33-year-old receiver a three-year deal, which is what he got from the Panthers.

They’ve addressed ILB, OL and CB. Outside of Ogunjobi they haven’t addressed the DL. I think its a good chance they will look at pick 17 for that.

Of course they could still sign one in FA before then.

BPA DL, OL and CB is the likely pick. 17 is too high for ILB but Campbell might be there at 32.

Some would say they haven't really addressed the cb position and one could argue they went backwards. If there's a guy they like still at 17, I feel like they'll go cb. That, imo, is the biggest glaring need left to fill. Other than left tackle.

Yeah, bringing Peterson in on that deal, just screams that they want to grab one of the top DBs and have him mentored.

Loudermilk 404 NFL snaps. Wren has 197. Leal has 175. Marshall has 76. Adams 1162. I think we will draft one but unless it's the nose, I don't see a DE in the first this year.

Very possible. I think Porter is likely if they go CB.

They definitely addressed it though. Until yesterday, Peterson was the only splash signing they made. He’s just not a long term answer.

Neither was cam. If Peterson plays every game for two years, that's 34 game starts. Cam had 39 game starts in 6 years. Now he played in sub packages, but long term isn't a guarantee. 5 years or 4 years and if he's that good we may not have him after that anyway. If not we have an artie burns, Terrell Edmunds situation. we have done much better bringing in fa players. Haden, wallace, hilton, peterson.

Got to agree with you there. If Porter is still there, he's likely the last one available. Got to see how he does during the ProDay.

Everyone talks about his lack of "Splash" plays, Peterson might be the mentor he needs.

Why what did you see? I thought last year could have been Cams best year yet. I would expect to see the Steelers Extend Cam to free up some Cap Space for 2023.

I hate these "Tweeners" the Steelers keep drafting for the D-Line. I want a real NT for 2023 and am praying that the Steelers land Mazi Smith in the Draft. Cam Heyward was not a Tweener, Tuitt was not a Tweener, just stop drafting Tweeners already we have enough Loundermilks and Leals on the team already!!!.

Problem with Loudermilk isn't that he's a tweener really. He's just so damn tall and he's giving up that leverage for what they really want him to do.

They have signed a couple linebackers but that position still needs a massive upgrade. Odds both of them are solid is very small. We are talking about average borderline starting players.

lol no. They are better than that. I believe you are basing your entire evaluation of them based on name recognition. Cole especially but both are upgrades over Spillane and Jack.

Hope you are right let’s see how they look on the field starting. I’ll agree Cole is possibly an upgrade if he is and can stay healthy. The guy from Miami? Think you are drinking black and yellow kool aid on this one but let’s see.

They have All-Pro players at defensive end, outside linebacker, and cornerback. Their other outside linebacker is developing into an elite pass rusher. They just spent a good bit of money on another defensive lineman. They aren't going to have All-Pros everywhere.

Also, are they average or borderline starters? Those are not the same thing.

He is saying they are upgrades over Jack and Spillane, which is a low bar. Jack was a hell of a player earlier in his career, but he wasn't anywhere near that level in 2022.

I have a feeling Cole ends up the backup with Daniels moving to Center. The 3 best Maulers are Seumalo, Herbig and Daniels. That's where the smash mouth can be found. Start all 3.

Now draft B Jones and D. Jones and we can get this party going. :)

What did Jacks do last year that you see anything better than what they signed? I wouldn’t have minded if they brought Jacks back in case his play was injury related but he did nothing special last year.

And when have you seen Spillane with coverage like this:

And if you are tired of being run all over, these guys will tighten that up. I seriously wonder if fans actually take the time to look at players or is it just oh I havent heard of him he must suck.

Who are you taking at pick 17 for ILB? They’ll address the position but it won’t be pick 17.
