Gatorade bottle caps

Yeah I know I’m old

Do you know how Gatorade got it’s name

 

Do you remember how terrible it tasted when first released. Hard to believe something so bad lasted

 

I couldn’t drink it

 

I’m old but, I don’t remember these. Of course, I never drank Gatorade…..

 

I Loved it... as a kid I even loved their gum.

 

In the mid 80s, there was a strike against the company I worked for. Being salaried, I was ‘sent’ to staff the operation. I spent 6 weeks doing 12 hr days during June/July in Arkansas. They had endless bottles and cans and Gatorade available to keep us hydrated. I drank gallons of the stuff during that time. Have not touched a drop since.

I was out of school by the time Gatorade became big, but I do remember those orangish, yellow salt tablets we took for cramping.

 

We still drank pickle juice...even after Gatorade. LoL

 

I love pickle juice. I drink it at night if I have leg cramps.

Am I the only one that has probably 3-5 half eaten jars of pickles in my fridge at any one time?

 

No.....I Love them. Matter of fact not only will I have a bunch, but also a bunch of different kinds.

 

Hard for me to eat a grilled cheese sammich without a bread and butter pickle at this point of my life

Damn, I'm old but fell in love with Gatorade about 15 years ago so I never knew about those caps. Besides beer and water it's all I drink. Still convinced Gatorade Zero has sugar in it because IMO it taste just as good as regular Gatorade. Now as for Powerade, yuk.

 

Got to have pickle with it and it seems incomplete if I don't have some chips with it.

 

Ever have a shot of Jamesons followed by a shot of pickle juice? It's called a pickleback. Not my jam but a favorite of frat boys every where.

I gobbled those salt tablets when I worked in the mill on an open hearth

Working there you could drink quarts of water and still never have to pee

 

A new moonshine bar/grill opened in Slippery Rock a couple of weeks ago. They have the Pickleback shot there. And yeah forget getting anywhere near it on Friday or Saturday nights it's packed with college kids.
