Now we see where the real money is going. They are re-signing Larry Ogunjobi fo three years, $28.75 million.

I like him, but given the injury issues. That seems like too much.

So, we get Ogun for 4/36 after the Bears tried to give him 3/40.

If Larry O is healthy, I think it's a good signing at a reasonable price. Especially when you see what Gravedigger got.

Now, they aren't forced to grab at DL high. Although I wouldn't mind if they did.

Do you see me praising every move? No, you don't, so let's not misrepresent reality and imply otherwise. I criticized them for letting Sutton go. I don't hate the Ogunjobi signing, but I think they overpaid. Most of all, this free agency period is a failure if they don't get help at inside linebacker.

All of that said, you made a terrible argument, which I proved very easily. Herbig has been around long enough that it is irrelevant that he wasn't drafted. Undrafted players do become very good pros. I gave you four examples from the Steelers, including a Hall of Fame safety (Shell), a former NFL Defensive Player of the Year (Harrison), a guy who became a Pro Bowl tackle (Villanueva), and a guard who was a very good starter for the team for a long time (Foster.) Those were just the ones I could think of in a minute or two. I think your need to slam everything the Steelers do led you to make a lousy argument.

Odds are the guy neither of us ever heard of before will make little impact next year on the Steelers. Sure there are 1 offs but thinking we can go cheap every year and compete is clearly not working. I guess we will have the same argument next year and the homers will come up with the same lame excuses as to why we are not any good.

The need for this likely caused them to overpay but it was a must move.

Probably takes Calijah Kancey off the board at pick 17 but if his size somehow drops him to 32 they better knock people over to make that pick.

I don’t Mind the Ogunjobi deal but they are definitely taking a bit of a gamble on his health. If there are no health concerns he is probably in the $15m + APY category so I think there is a discount built in to an extent. If he stays healthy it’s a steal.

I hope they draft DT high all the same

Larry O is one of those guys who is constantly nicked up. When he plays he is decent but odds are he will be in the hot tub more than the playing field.

Love the signing as he is only 24 years old, but what does "Out for Season" mean from last year?

Spillane gone. Wow, thought he’d be back for sure. They have to sign one of the remaining FA now.

Spillane is a good ST player and it’s not his fault that he was asked to cover receivers and tight ends on key plays. He was on very small money and was good value for the most part. Steelers seem to be hexed at ILB between Shazier and Bush etc

Good luck to Spillane in vegas
