I agree that might not be the best plan. How did he stack up stat wise this season compared to Sutton?

I don't know about this. Essentially trading Cam Sutton for a washed Patrick Peterson is not an upgrade. DBs are a must in this draft.

He had a good year. Allowed 66 passer rating plus 5 interceptions, but how sustainable is that at age 33?

Well we signed soon to be 33 year old Patrick Peterson

If he finds fountain of youth it may be OK.

Guessing this got to be a short term deal.

He is not washed up, I watch Viking games here since I live in Minnesota and he can still play and can tackle, I love the signing

Peterson had 5 INT last year. As long as he keeps his step and stays healthy, its a good stop gap and this shows you that the Steelers are probably all in on round 1 for a Cornerback so Peterson be a good mentor for a Rookie to be around.

    I'm a bit mixed.
Peterson is a decent corner, I don't subscribe to 'washed up' either.
Let Sutton walk, get a decent band-aide for 2-years... maybe.

Sometimes though, Corners just lose it over the summer after a certain age.
    Hopefully that doesn't happen.

I read where Sutton got 30 million guaranteed. If thats true that’s likely why the Steelers bailed.

By virtue of his accomplishments?! RoQuan. That said, Tremaine is still only 24 years of age. Still some potential to be tapped there. Even so, Roquan can be more so debated a Top Five LB than Tremaine ever could.

Yeah, I could be mistaken but I dont think they hand out guarantees for that much money except for star players.

I would imagine that could be the plan. Personally I would still take Brian Branch as Sutton wore so many damn hats on this defense. Branch offers just as much versatility with superior Football IQ and Instincts.

$22 mil is gar. I think he really didn't seek a counter, I think he knew the playing field.
