Wonder if they are doing this to get out of his contract and bring him back at much lower salary?

If he can run, I can deal with that.

For sure. With Jackson at say $5 or $6M and Cam resigning at say $10M along with Wallace, I think the Steelers can afford to kick the can down the road a year or two at the CB position, but if someone is too good to pass up, you obviously take that guy.

We already knew this. It basically cost them nothing to get him into the building, get a good look at him and see if he had anything left or was going to be able to overcome his injuries.

I figured they cut him, for all the reasons mentioned.
I suppose a new contract was offered and I imagine he turned it down.
He could be a good depth player with starter capability but at a more reasonable cost.
My guess is, he moves on.

Good ... resign Sutton and get a young top tier stud at cb. Then, wait a couple of years and sign the cb, through free agency; that you really wanted.:)

Never did a thing nursing major back issues. 12 mill :roflmao:No harm taking a chance but it's obvious his back issues are on the front burner.

The crazy thing is that they wanted to draft him in 2016 with their 25th pick but the bungles grabbed him at 24 and then they chose:

What Jackson are you signing for 5 - 6 million? It can't be William. Wo I was thinking maybe they would sign him back for league minimum.

I still don't understand why he wasn't on the field for the last couple of games to at least get a look at him.

What were the requirements of Jackson/Steelers for that conditional 7th pick? Does the 6th round pick come back to the Steelers or is it still a 7th?
