Funny, I will say this about Austin...

I don't look for him to be on the punt team as a gunner anytime soon. :) Now those guys have to fight their way down the field.

I just pointed him to this message board, and the depth of knowledge blew him away

Shouldn't have...I don't have time with work, and music for Me to call the Defense.

That’s OK… we’ve got at least 50 offensive coordinators here

Very rare. I thought maybe Bush would defeat the odds, the people who were concerned about his height were right.

It’s fair to be concerned about Austins size.

While the heighth of Bush isn't ideal, I would say that the ACL and his lack of heart were more of a problem. Besides, isn't a shorter Bush kinda the thing now?

Of course. That is how you get a receiver with his college production, speed, hands, and route-running in the fourth round.

I'm sure out of those 50 they could devise a better game plan then Mr. Saturday. At lease install Hot Routes which seems Canada knows nothing about but the lover of the Jet Sweep

Austin is 20 lbs lighter and 2 inches taller than Sproles, so Sproles had more weight in a smaller package. I have high hopes for Austin this season.
    Austin 5-8 170
    Sproles 5-6 190

Sproles amazingly played 15 seasons in the NFL, he is the GOAT for 5'-6" players. Kinda like Calvin Murphy was in NBA, though 3 inches taller than Sproles.
    4,840 receiving
    3,552 rushing
    2,961 punt return
    8,352 kick return

Sproles is a unicorn and those 20lbs make a big difference. Wes Welker is a closer match, 5’9” 185lbs. I’d take Wes Welker production out of Austin.

I’m sure they have gotten Austins weight up over the course of the season. Had nothing else to do but study the playbook and workout.

Manny Sanders when drafted by Steelers was not a big athlete, but he could play. I hope Austin can play as good as Manny was for Steelers.

He’s a fast guy. He didn’t play at all last year. Probably injured. He’s 5’7” 170. I’m having a hard time with this one, as my mind defaults to “too small” to excel in a league filled with really big dudes.

I hope he shows out for his team and himself and makes us all believers in him.

    But my mind defaults.

Don’t know if this has been posted before but here is Austin getting the better of Sauce. Guy has some release.

Sauce calls him the toughest receiver he’s had to cover.

Was Wes Welker, Cole Beasley, or Julian Edelman big? Hell, no! But they were productive and durable and had long, excellent careers. And none of those guys even come close to CAIIIs speed.

One of the advantages of living outside of Hooterville is I can go outside and pee on my own lawn :smiley1:
