You forgot Lawrence. He's definitely tier 2. But I agree with your tier just not the order.

I'm going to be incredibly disappointed if we don't draft OL on day 1. Wouldn't surprise me if the didn't though. The OL has been such a glaring deficieny for the past 4 years yet they have only made token moves that are headscratchers at best. Why the FO and HC don't see this is ridiculous.

I feel the exact same of everything You just said about about a CB. We just keep losing them, and not a real replacement taken ever. Everyone brings up Burns was taken in the 1st, but in the NFL.....that was along time ago. 2016....it is now 2023.

If all the top tackles are gone at #17, then they will probably go DL or CB, they can get a center or guard at #32.

If Peter Skoronski drops to 17 due to this length limitations at the OT position, I would be booking it to that damn podium. Kevin Dotson can ready his walking papers as that will be his replacement. I would also love to add Broderick Jones but given how impressive he has been at the Combine (a major concern of mine turned major excitement per his performance)... good luck. He and Paris Johnson Jr are as good as gone as both are Day One Franchise Caliber Left Tackles.

I personally would not rule out Peter Skoronski as the Steelers have made contact with him at the Combine. In addition, while he did state he can play Left Tackle, he did not rule out other positions either should those questions be asked of him either. An interior consisting of him, Cole and Daniels?!

Sign me up! Hell, Najee Harris approves too!! :drinks:

No, of course I wouldn't reach on day 1. However, at 17, we stand a chance of getting one of the top 4 OTs out there. After sr bowl and combine, I might even take Darnell Wright at 17.

It's possible we could land OT at 17 and C at 32. Although not sexy, it could shore up this OL for next decade. CB wouldn’t be horrible at 17 IMO.

Depends on who the CB is at 17. Corner at 17 would have to be a sure-shot blue chip player, considering how badly the Steelers have drafted CB since the late 2000's.

Rod Woodson at CB... 1987 draft
Andrew Luck at QB... 2012 draft
Trevor Lawrence at QB... 2021 draft
Aaron Donald at DT... 2014 draft

... just to name a few.

I personally support Wright as an option for Pick 17 actually. He answered quite a bit of my own questions about him; namely his lateral agility, acceleration and change of direction. Not nearly as much of a knee bender as I thought as he did well in drills.

Heck, even if the Steelers view him as a Guard prospect, all the better as Wright is Kevin Dotson's superior in every way.

    CBs...
Cam Smith, Gonzalez, and Porter Jr....I believe will all be worth the 17 pick....in that order.

I heard they didn't even meet with Wright at the combine FWIW.

That is because they made contact with Wright at the Senior Bowl. Not too sure if the team felt that they needed to do a follow up.

Who knows @S.T.D?! Perhaps another corner emerges?! Cam Smith from South Carolina I would not mind but Deonte Banks likely has catapulted himself into the discussion as well. Banks has played a lot of different coverage types during his time at Maryland.

Freaky athlete as well. Wouldn't mind a trade down and nabbing him personally assuming JP Jr is not there.

I honestly have zero excitement for the 23 season. I typically don't this time of the year. I'm more focused on baseball and soccer. I don't usually get into football mode until the draft weekend. I follow various mock drafts and mock the mocks... but I like to take a breather for a month or two as well.

I want a tough battle tested player, not a guy who just had a great year. I like guys who show progression. Brian Branch will be badass for many years.

Just because the Jets get a 39 year old Rodgers doesn't mean they're a better team, last year he didn't play good.
