The tantrum and lack of knowledge is coming from your insecurity. that's pretty easy to see.

Canada not needing a mobile QB is your opinion, its not fact and it doesn't really follow logic when you actually watch the type of system he runs. the general consensus is his system needs a running QB. yeah, Canada saying he doesn't need a running QB on an interview i would totally take with a grain of salt - specially when the offense was stagnant and the system was being criticized right and left by fans and media. He'll say whatever he can to save his skin.

Look who they have as QB's now - of course he wants/prefers one.

choosing staff is often a group decision these days - its not unilateral. Retaining Canada however looks like an FO decision. I don't put the assembly of the staff all on Tomlin - no i don't have inside information - but its a best guess based on the information available. You on the other hand seem to be making absolute statements "this is the way it is" or its "only this way" what nonsense.

go ahead send me another lazy response

I see you are going to keep attacking the poster because you lost the argument. That figures.

Canada made that comment during his first season as the Steelers' offensive coordinator, so he didn't have to do anything to "save his skin" Yet again, the facts don't come close to fitting your false narrative. You can't back up your claim that he wants or needs a running quarterback. You can't back up your implication that Tomlin isn't the one who wanted Canada, which doesn't fit the available information. Supposedly, that connection goes back to when Canada was at Maryland. You have no answer for my claim that it is Tomin, not Canada, who has shown an affinity for mobile quarterbacks. In addition to the Vick example, remember they drafted Dennis Dixon early in Tomlin's tenure. Maybe you should do some research before the next time you post. Try it as a change of pace.

IIRC, Canada made that comment when asked if he needed a mobile quarterback… and with aging Ben as his starting quarterback. I’d have answered the same way, to avoid pissing off Ben.

Agreed. The point is that seems to be the only comment I can find from him about the subject of a mobile quarterback. None of the people pushing the story that he wants one seems to be able to back it up, while there is evidence that Tomlin has a preference for a mobile quarterback. The implications that they went out of their way to get mobile quarterbacks for Canada or that they didn't give Rudolph a fair shot because Canada wants a mobile quarterback simply don't hold up. Based on what we know, if mobility really was a factor in all that, it was more likely due to Tomlin's preference.

Mason Rudolph, Landry Jones....not the most mobile of QB's....not to mention Charlie Batch who was with Tomlin for six years, again a pure pocket passer.

and Canada made that comment when Ben was the QB when he was pretty much immobile. What's Canada going to say? "I prefer a mobile QB but I'm stuck with Ben"?? or what he did say to keep his job "uh Ben is still mobile (?)". the system is all rollouts and movement, your stubborn contention that he doesn't prefer/need a mobile QB is just weird and bizarre.

your hopeless - go read a comic book or something.

Batch was already well established with the Steelers by the time Tomlin was hired. Tomlin tried to replace him with Dixon, who got hurt and didn't work out.

You can't present evidence to support your claims. I can. 'nuff said.

Pickett had SEVEN TD'S ( Tua had 6 in one game ) and 9 Interceptions, the ENTIRE year!

    That's not Trubiskys fault lol

Well it does if you assigning blame to Pickett for Trubiskys poor play.

Your definition of “sucks” is vastly different that mine.

    No actually they didn’t

They were very poor to start but progressively got better

They did play well in the end and that is something positive for next year

Your expectations for a rookie quarterback seem it be in line with your expectations for this message board. Maybe lower both of them and you won't be such an angry elf.

Again, no, it is not disrespectful for me to disagree with you. We clearly have very different views regarding the current state of the Steelers. I don't agree with the overwhelming negativity in your posts. I understand it because the team has not been a genuine contender since 2018 and that isn't good enough, but I see the progress that was made this past season and you don't. I understand that they had to transition from Roethlisberger and take a step back to move forward. I don't like it, but I get it.

Obviously, we disagree about Pickett. I see the potential he showed this year and you do not.

None of that is personal and it certainly isn't disrespectful to you.

You are welcome to do so, but it ignores much of the available evidence regarding Pickett, which makes it an inaccurate and incomplete assessment.

No, it’s an area of his game that needs to improve but he was far from sucking for his rookie season.

You also want to absolve Canada for any blame and probably the only Steelers fan on the planet that feels that way. Mr Saturday’s offense was far and away the biggest reason for the offensive struggles.

Pickett will still end up miles better than Kyler Murray, Daniel Jones, Mac Jones, Justin Fields, Tua Tag... however the hell you spell it....

It is Tagovailoa. I finally got it, but I still find myself wanting to double-check.

I'm not sure where Pickett will end up, but he was not horrendous as a rookie and he at least has a shot to be very good.

I'm not absolving Canada from any blame, He's as guilty as the rest...But, most of you absolve Pickett from any blame....Canada, OL, Running game,WR's are to blame...But Pickett gets none

How’s that? I said he needs to improve on TD’s but he did some very good things. He has also shown to have the two most important traits in a QB, being a leader and the ability to drive the team down the field for a score with the game on the line. First rookie ever to do that in back to back weeks.
