I never realized How treble their Guitars were in this until just now. Wonder how I missed that???
I didn't like this the 1st time I heard it, but it grew on Me. They played this a lot on a radio in Little Rock in the 90s before I moved.

Sure it does. I don't like every single thing he did. But I admire the way he stood up to the tragedy in his life and didn't quit. Overall I appreciated his music.

I was surprised this was sung by Conway Twitty, I rarely heard country singers growing up. I didn't realize Conway sang songs with vocal ranges like this.

Just think - if Forrest Gump had only taught Conway the crazy leg and hip moves - he might have been THE King instead. ;)

Poor guitar player doesn't have much to do in this, but that bass sounds good. Even though I like this.....I hated playing songs like this live as a Guitar player.

    Yea, good bass playing.

Guitars are good enough for me. I don't need to hear some wizard going off every 12 to 15 seconds. To me, that can sometimes get annoying after awhile.

You don't have to go off... but the guitar player does nothing for almost half the tune, but make little odd noise in the back ground. That's why I hated playing these songs live....even if I liked them.
Like the song by Green Day we covered....Longview....the bass player would get mad I would play his bass parts on the guitar. LoL....because I got bored.

I Myself hate guys that just shred. Any Guitar player that has played for a while can shred..
There is way more to playing then that. Of course young players that's all they want to do. LoL.

I loathe Green Day. I would have refused to play it. I'm really sorry you had to do that.

I had a longer response typed up, but I deleted it on accident.

Believe Me My Friend....when You play out ... You always play songs You don't want to.
Example: Ac/DC anything...LoL....or My Least favorite thing to play....Lives Lighting Crashes. LoL.
What really sucks is when people clap, or cheer loudly on the songs You hate to play, but barely clap on the songs You love to play. LoL

That doesn't sound like very much fun. Not at all. It could be worse though: You never worked in the mortgage industry. Being up on a stage playing subpar music still beats staring at mortgage documents. Be thankful for that.

I was thinking....I've probably been to almost 1000 live shows. I love going to check out bands. I can honestly say I've only ever seen 2 cover bands. One was for Kiss, and the other one was Led Zeppelin. And at the Kiss one, I was working the door, checking id's.

Do you prefer just learning other songs, or do you get more fulfillment coming up with your own songs, your own band....calling all the shots.....etc...?

I way prefer doing My own songs, but most places I've played ....bars, clubs , parties, and outdoor events ....people want to hear stuff they know......So We would try , and put in like one, or two original songs every set.
Although nothing like hearing someone shout for a song You wrote.
I have played in bands that never wrote any original songs. It was strange to Me when I joined them.
