No, too expensive and injury prone.

If he got released, he wouldn't be too expensive.

Or sign Dupree on the cheap, then use that 3rd round pick on another position, since they don't have a 5th or 6th round pick. Dupree was on his way to another double digit sack season before he got injured in 2020.

Dupree had two dominant seasons, though the second was cut short by a torn ACL. I understand the problems some have with the guy, but let's at least be accurate.

The team can accept having Edmunds and Bush around for so long... I'm sure Bud will out-impact both of those two losers.

I will give you that. 12 games, 8 sacks then injured. Had 11.5 in the full season in 2019.

In his 3rd year Highsmith had 14.5. Dupree had 6.

Don't get me wrong both Highsmith and Dupree benefited with the monster on the other side.

Dupree can't stay healthy. His dead cap is 10,850 mill for 2023.

In his 2 years with the Titans he had 3 sacks in 21 and 4 sacks in 22.

Off injured in Titan land 2021 aggravated the knee and had an abdominal injury. In 2022 a hip injury.

A fresh face in the draft is what I want to see.

The contract isn't relevant. He would only be an option if he was released by the Titans.

Highsmith developed faster, but that comparison also isn't relevant to the current discussion.

The question is if Dupree might be able to help them as their third outside linebacker if they can get him cheap. Of course, he absolutely can. Injuries are a concern, which is why he should or would be cheap.

Vet min, I’d be ok with. We cannot insult Highsmith by paying a rotational 3rd OLB more than him. Let’s also remember he stays injured it seems, so yes, availability and dependability is Duprees biggest downfall .

Bud Dupree - another call the Steelers got right. Let's see how Cam Sutton fares elsewhere.

The guy blew out his knee. It wasn't hard to figure out that giving him a huge deal that offseason was a bad idea.

Sutton is a different matter entirely, though I am concerned that his value is going to be overinflated by a few big plays.

i'm anxious to see what quincy roche does for us. he was a 6th round draft pick for us that we really never got to see. 3 starts with the giants. 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in just over 400 snaps. plus plays special teams which would be a must. they had some decent expectations of him when drafted. might not be a need for bud if he works out well.

I liked Roche when they first got him, but I would be surprised to see him develop into much at this point. Maybe he can rush the passer a little, which would at least be an upgrade over Jamir Jones. Seriously, has anybody ever seen Jones make a play?

roche may be good enough to fill that 3rd OLB role. jamir will be here through camp at least with some familiarity of the system. we will most likely have some younger talent in camp to look at as well.

    No.

I'd try to extend Highsmith and draft an EDGE in Rd. 3, 4, or 5

I don't think bringing in Dupree has anything to do with whether or not they extend Highsmith. At this point, Dupree would be no more than a No. 3.

I don't know how you can say that when we saw what happens when Edmunds is not on the field and how they have to play Minka.

I think he was grabbed based on what he showed in Preseason, but he probably needed to be in a system like Pittsburgh to develop
