Big time RB spotted at Pittsburgh Airport

I heard on TribLive.com that someone had spotted Brandon Jacobs at the airport in Pittsburgh? Of course, the rumor was quickly dispelled because he's not even a free agent, but a suspended member of the Niners. They then discussed whether or not the Steelers would be interested in bringing him in during the off- season. I don't particularly like the idea because I don't think he's that much better than Redman with a similar style. Plus he's got quite a bit of baggage and if the Steelers dump some baggage in Mendenhall in the off-season why would they pick up more in Jacobs.

What do you think? Could Jacobs be a possibility in the off-season?

 

I hope not. We have enough running backs. All of which are better than Jacobs.

 

I'd take Jacobs over Redman tomorrow...and I like Redman.

Baggage aside, he's on the north side of 30. RB performance falls fast once they hit that age.

I'm with Hack, I'd take Jacobs in a heartbeat. Although his current situation is of his own making. He had to know that Gore is the feature back and no way would he be getting 25+ carries on that team.

 

He did....if you go back and read what he said when they signed him....it was all about being ready to go when called upon.....something has happened along the way....and I think its being a healthy scratch behind other backs not named Gore.

I don't see the Steelers signing a rb in his thirties who complains when he doesn't get the ball. You keep Dwyer, Redman, Rainey, and you draft one.

 

It would be huge news if Walter Payton was at the airport. He died in 1999

Jacobs was on the ABC show SharkTank a couple months ago, endorsing someones product. He was an arrogant pompous douche the entire time...don't' care for him a bit!

 

Yeah, I'd take him over Redman.

 

We have enough issues to deal with right now. Why would we want to deal with more? And there shouldn't be any doubt that he'll bring "issues" with him......along with no heart. TE is right, the guy straight up quit on the giants.

 

Lets not get ahead of ourselves....we dont even know why the man was at the airport. There are other things in Pittsburgh besides the Steelers or he it could have just been a layover. Who knows.
