He was supposed to help get Bush on track but their isn't anyone who can reach him. I don't blame Flores. He did help another ILBer though in Robert Spillane get better. Also worked with Pickett.

If he comes back great but I feel he will get a job elsewhere.

Yeah, I just saw that Evero took the Panthers job so it is honestly not looking good, if Flores bombs both interviews with the Broncos and Cardinals then I think Flores will likely go to the Vikings unless he does not want to do the huge task of fixing the Vikings #31 ranked defense then Flores will return to the Steelers

If Broncos do not hire Flores then Flores could likely become the head coach with Cardinals the next day since both interviews with Broncos and Cardinals is on Tuesday and Wednesday

Well, we all saw this coming. Can they take Dan O as well? There goes Tomlin's potential coaching tree. He's back down to the roots or seed

Never really cared for the hire in the first place. Seemed to be just a PR move to me. Hopefully they can upgrade the position but I'm not really banking on it. MT doesn't usually knock em out of the park when it comes to assistant coaching hires.

Did he not think he had a chance for the Cardinals HC job, he was told today he had a second interview coming. Flores knows the Cardinals GM when they were both at the Patriots. The finalist are now Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo and Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka.

The Arizona Cardinals have another candidate they will interview for a second time for their vacant head coaching job. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the Cardinals will bring in former Miami Dolphins head coach and current Pittsburgh Steelers defensive assistant Brian Flores for the second time.

Wishing Flores the best of luck. Good hire by the Vikings. I see Flores as a better DC than he would have been as a HC. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he turns the Vikings D around.

I am very surprised he did not try to see if he would get the Cardinals head coach job

Hopefully there is a quality hire to replace him. We'll see!

I wasn't a big fan of the hire from the beginning.

It's a good move for Flores, going to the Vikings.
But his name will be on that defense, so we'll see how good he really is.

I've heard the Steelers are interested in adding 2 coaches, a replacement for Flores and potentially an offensive assistant.
but they are drifting into the warning track as far as a timeline.

Thats a loss. Run defense went from last to top 10. Several players have spoken out about how much he helped them. Even Pickett benefited by him being here, he taught him how defenses would attack during the 2 minute offense. Couldn’t do anything with Bush sadly but you need to want to learn and work hard, I don’t get that impression from Bush, just here to collect a paycheck.

Oh well, we knew it was temporary. Would have liked him as our DC but bad timing with Austin.

This offseason blows so far. Hopefully they bring in some good coaches like @Karl has alluded to.

You're correct about Kenny learning from Flores. When asked by a reporter about him being so clutch late in the games he quickly credited Flores for telling him what the opposing defense would do in that situation. That was the first time that I ever heard a QB give praise to a defensive coach who instructed him about what to look for.

    All very good points.
I had some critique of Austin's defense early on. I wonder, if Flores played a part in the improvement, wouldn't it make sense to let Austin go, move Flores to DC/Asst HC?

:this!: But I will say give him some credit, neither he nor his lawsuit seemed to become the distraction that I thought it might when we brought him in. His loss will be negligible to the team IMO. Sounds like he did some good things while he was here but I think his impact was minimal overall. We'll see how Austin does next season.

This is true for a lot of coaches. Awesome OCs, and DCs, but terrible HCs.
Matter of fact some of the Greatest OCs, and DCs have been horrible HCs.

Fans keep saying they should've gotten rid of Austin to keep Flores and make him the DC, that was never going to happen with Austin being under contract.
