Where would you rank the Steelers in the AFC? How about the AFCN?

I think it is pretty clear the Steelers are the 3rd best team in the AFC North currently, but where would you rate them in the AFC?

Bengals are clear #1 and will likely be in the playoffs as long as Burrow is the QB. Ravens are #2 and have a possible transition period if they decide to move on from Lamar.

We are 3rd, barring a change in the Ravens or a huge step forward by Kenny.

    Chiefs
    Bengals
    Chargers
    Jaguars
    Bills
    Steelers
    Ravens

Steelers are 6th in AFC, 2nd in AFCN.

Broncos and Jets will likely improve.

    AFC North
    Bengals
    Ravens
    Steelers
    Browns

    AFC
    Bengals
    Chiefs
    Bills
    Jaguars
    Titans
    Chargers
    Dolphins
    Steelers
    Broncos
    Riaders
    Patriots
    Jets
    Browns
    Texans
    Colts

The window for some teams is already starting to close.
I believe in a couple of years it is gong to be hard for some of these teams to remain on top when they are paying Franchise QB’s. Some QB’s are so good they don’t need a lot around them. I think Burrow and Mahomes are like that to a similar extent. I don’t see Allen or Jackson having the same mental toughness to remain as relevant as Burrow and Mahomes. In addition I believe the style Allen and Jackson play you are going to start seeing injuries impacting their game and seasons.

I believe we have a mentally tough QB in Kenny Pickett perhaps he has a lesser ceiling but I think if we continue to build around him at least near the middle and end of his rookie contract we should have a chance. The guy nobody is really talking about is Trevor Lawrence. Forget about Herbert they wanted to crown him just like they did with Josh Allen. Lawrence will be the one to rise up and compete with Burro and Mahomes.

In a couple years I see the rankings as follows:

    AFC North
    Bengals
    Steelers
    Ravens
    Browns

    AFC
    Bengals
    Jaguars
    Broncos
    Chiefs
    Steelers
    Bills
    Texans
    Ravens
    Chargers
    Jets
    Patriots
    Dolphins
    Colts
    Titans
    Raiders
    Browns

The Ravens and Bills may even fall further. Both of those teams are going to struggle with the salary cap and I don’t see their QB’s being able to carry those teams like Burro and Mahomes can theirs. The Broncos will be good because Payton will find a way to get R. Wilson back to the Wilson we know. The Chargers had a ton of talent but something is way off that team. The Patriots will always be solid on defense. Can they find the next QB they need? Dolphins and Steelers are probably the biggest question marks. It all depends on how we fill in the talent around Pickett and his development and with the Dolphins it all comes down Tuitt unless that team goes after Carr or somebody.

The other caveat here is with the Jets...they could temporarily be much better for a few years if they pull of the trade A. Rogers.

Two things are certain. The AFC is very competitive and the Browns are the Browns brining up the rear.

The Steelers with a good offseason can pass the Ravens to be the second best team in the AFCN IMO.

I can honestly see the Steelers getting back to the top of the North.

    Browns are the Browns

Ravens keep adding talent, but under Jackson, they are always gonna be the same.

I honestly think the Bengals aren’t gonna get any better, they will start to fall apart. Burrow and Chase will not be able to keep carrying the team, they will end up losing players.

Patriots and Titans above the Steelers I don't see it, Mac Jones regressed last season, we don't even know who will start for the Titans at QB.

Only 3 teams in the AFC I legit put ahead of us, and one maybe on their way down. KC, Bengals, and Bills. Also Bengals being in our division....We will split with them more often than not.

    Bengals are still a contender
Ravens may be slipping to mediocre
    Browns are still dysfunctional
Steelers go as far as KP can take them - I would say 2nd in the division in 23.
KC, Cinci, Buffalo, are still the class of the conference
Miami, NE, SD are second tier and can get better with a good offseason
I see the Steelers getting into the second tier if they have a good offseason and KP continues to improve.

If A Rod goes to LV I would put them around 5/6 bumping us to around 8. We will be fighting for a 7 seed

You know, Benny, we just played 17 games to figure this out. In the division, we're third. Doesn't matter where I rank them, that's where they finished. In the Conference, we're 8th. In the NFL we're 16th.
The Steelers, and all 31 other teams, have not had free agency, the draft, retirements, trades, etc. Until that happens, nothing has changed.

I don't know why people are saying Ravens are better than the Steelers. Regardless of whether LJ returns or not, Steelers will have a better offense in '23 than Ravens... even with Canada at OC. At present... Ravens have a slightly better D, because of Roquan Smith at ILB. If Steelers win the lottery at ILB in '23.... Steelers defense will be better.

The Bengals are clearly the class of the AFC North and will be for a while.

Second is a toss-up between the Steelers and Ravens. The Steelers are on the way up. The Ravens are on the way down.

In the AFC overall, the Steelers are 6th or 7th at the moment.

Considering the team just moved on from a franchise QB, they’re not in terrible shape.

Ravens could drop to the basement this season depending on what happens with Jackson.

Hard to imagine rats in last as long as Cleveland is in the division. Lol. But I wouldn't be mad if it did happen!

Unless South Dakota was granted a franchise that I'm not aware of, there's no team in SD. Not that the one that used to be here was much of a team......

Chargers will always be San Diego to me. Just can’t get LA to stick.

The Dan Fouts and Winslow days are just too engrained in my head.

Didn't you hear? The NFL did just grant a franchise in South Dakota. They will officially be called the Pierre Prairie Dogs and will start next season. They just selected Mason Rudolph as their first pick in the expansion draft.
