I agree. I think WR is a lot bigger need than people are thinking. They can’t put all their eggs in Austins basket. Really sucks he lost last season.

Are you Crazy!!! I just looked at a Draft website and he is the #1 WR on their board; that would be insane to try and go get him this year.

They will not draft a receiver in the first 3 picks. DT, OT, Corner, ILBer are needs. Also OLBer in the 3rd. Maybe receiver in the 4th. I feel they will go with a FA. Sims has upside that I like. And Austin has major speed. The injury might have set him back but he will be in the mix.

The Steelers also just signed Anthony Miller, who was injured last year to a new 1 year contract. The Steelers may take a flyer on
a WR late but not with those first 4 picks.

I'm all for giving Kenny his target to throw to. Anything that will help him win us Superbowl's-----------> is a first round draft pick +

Right. Throw him into the mix.

I would still hope we draft a slot type guy relatively early. 2nd or 3rd.

Except for the fact that Burrow/Chase>Pickett/Addison.

I doubt Addison will be the #1 WR after the combine.

No, they shouldn't draft Addison, find a WR in the later rounds, they used two draft picks on receivers last year address the defense or OL early on.

nope--< Addison Addison >number 1 pick for Steelers. He won't make it past 1st round and our div enemies will snatch him up and he will make us pay for not drafting him. Trade loopy--- dropsy ---Johnson. to get OL. I'm telling u Kenny wants Addison.

I hope it's not the Steelers who draft him, they have bigger holes to fill, draft a WR in the later rounds.

please no.....we've seen how skill player picks have set us back when compared to lineman. Sorry its time for impactful players not players that may impact.......

I flip flop on this daily. I suppose it depends on who else is available.

If Witherspoon, Gonzalez Cam Smith, and the Tackles are all gone, I'll take him over the rest.

Depth signing. They will either be hoping Austin can give them something or they will draft one but I don’t think first rd.

Or maybe FA. Hopkins is available but don’t know what he will demand at this point of his career.

We are talking about a slot receiver. There are only so many football to go around.
I would be Very surprised if the Steelers draft a wr,if so it would be late.

Definitely not. The only reason people are even talking about this is because Cindy did it with Chase. The difference is we have a lot more holes to fill than Cincy did back then.

DJ plays both outside and the slot. They could add someone for the outside.

I would be very nervous going into the season with just Pickens and DJ and a bunch of depth players. They’d be pinning their hopes that Austin could hit the ground running after missing his rookie season.

Oh they will draft a Wr. Just not in the 1st....., but more than likely....somewhere in the draft they will take one. I wish they would just wait for USFA, but they probably won't.

I don't understand why anybody would look at Miller as a viable option at this point. He was bad in 2020, then barely played at all the last two seasons. He isn't a terrible roll of the dice, but no way does it make sense to rely on him.

Who is relying on him? He will compete with all the rest of the Steelers WR's for the 3rd
receiver position that will see very limited targets.

One reason the receivers weren't open enough in the offense is the lack of production from the third receiver position. Teams didn't really have to worry about anybody in that spot, making it much easier to cover Pickens, Johnson, and Freiermuth. I doubt Sims is going to get much better and it is tough to trust Austin until he actually gets on the field for a game.

Only if we trade Diontae and use that pick for Addison. Tomlin clearly wants to lead with the running game, limiting the passing attempts. Muth, DJ, Pickens and Addison is a lot of mouths to feed on a "pass when you need to" offense. We simply would not get value out of him as a player in such a system, leading to the offense being less than a sum of it's parts.

Even more than the pass/run ratio is the offensive design. Addison is a more explosive Diontae but what will that matter when he is running 3 yard outs all game?
