He didn't exactly light it up with the Giants, so I wouldn't call him a steal.

He did ok that first year with them. More than the Steelers got out of Jones and the guys after him. I would have liked to see him learn behind Watt and Highsmith for a season though.

I thought he was possibly a steal because of how many systems he was in and how he managed to stay competitive in them.

They still need to add to the OLBer position in the draft or FA. I would rather the draft, the 3rd round. A player to come in and play a role, spell the two starters and if needed due to an injury can come in and play above the line and not just be "Out There" filling a spot.

Maybe Roche can be that player? At this point he is just another body who was brought back. Time will tell.

I think he was a tweener at cuts and they wanted to sneak him onto the PS. That does not mean he would have stayed with us, but the Giants signed him anyway. Gets another shot with us, nothing ventured and perhaps something gained.

Issue is with those first 4 draft positions we need to fill 6 to 7 different positions with depth. FA on the 2nd tier will fill some, but Omar and company have their work cut out for them.

Ingram being in the mix hurt as well as him not being a special team ace.

That shole situation blew up because Ingram pulled that crap wanting out mid-season.

Yes he pouted and wanted gone but he indicated that he was mislead about his role. Not that it's not an excuse. He was the perfect swing guy though but struggled as a bit as a starter. Would be nice to find another vet with gas left to fill that role or draft one in the 3rd.

I would bet He wasn't mislead....although I have no proof....I can see where He thought....Hey I'm good enough....no matter what they told me....I will be the starter by week 4...., and they just stuck with what they said....You will get plenty of playing time, but not as a starter.

    Exactly

No player is promised playing time only a chance to compete

He wasn’t one of the top 2 and yet he still got a significant number of snaps

If I remember correctly he wasn’t far off from the other two

At the time he was way off of Watt and Hightower hadn't really came into his own yet. He was strong against the run though witch was a surprise. True and if he's patient he gets his chance to get a huge payday when Watt went down
