I can't recall the injury but didn't Hines Ward go
Into hypobaric chamber for week trying to get healed up?

    Yes, and....
I believe He also slept in something of the sort for a lot of His later part of His career during the football season. That is if I'm remembering what He said in a interview after He retired.

Because right now you may get a 1st round pick, next year after sitting on the bench for a year you will be lucky to get a 3rd.

Who is going to give a 1st round pick for one Qb that has only played 4 games in 2 year, and wasn't very good in any of them, or for a 7th round Qb that hasn't even played a half a season???

It didn't seem the game was to big for the young man. He throws some nice passes.

They almost got Elliot killed on that play! He was the center.

You would be surprised. I say right now they would both be worth a 1st round pick to some QB hungry team. I still remember the Chiefs trading a 2nd round pick for Cassell and then singing him to that big contract after he filled in for Brady 1 year.

Trey Lance still has all the physical talent he had when he was drafted.
Brock Purdy has the "It" factor going for him now.

They are both still financially cheap options, but if you sit them on the bench for a year you are going to completely wipe out their trade value.

I know and that was the perfect way for the defense to play that. Have your guy just Bull rush the center right into the QB. Elliot has no blocking experience when he has to snap the ball, so just get in his face and push him backwards as fast as you can go.

It was the perfect defense. Bull rush the center, and then have another guy coming from the side unblocked going straight for the QB. The worse thing you can do is have your guys standing still trying to spy on the QB, giving him time to throw the ball.

Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.

I'll play along, but will then give my caveats. In the last 10 Super Bowls, the team with the better ranked defense won 9 times. A-HA! So defense does win championships!

Not so fast and here's why.

    a) The team with the better offense won 7 times out of 10, so it's difficult to discern whether the offense or the defense won the game.
b)The SB winner is just one game and in any one game, chance comes into play. Getting to the SB, however, takes at least some season long effort.
    c) It's difficult to say "defense wins championships" based on games where two teams are closely ranked defensively. In 5 of the last 10 SB's the defensive ranking was separated by 1 or 2 spots. The two teams were, on a qualitative basis, essentially the same.
    d) Doing the analysis over every SB is irrelevant. The game has just changed too much.

Everyone I knew thought KC was stupid doing that....including My buddy who is a life long KC fan.
I guess if We go by stupidity of some teams....then I guess You have something .
I didn't think any team would do something as stupid as the Browns did, but it happened.

I look at the 2 teams in the AFC championship game and I don't think they are winning games because of their Defense.

I would happily trade everyone on the Steelers offense straight across for the Chiefs or Bengals offense.

So what are You watching. Are You not seeing the defense play. I think it's because of people pre thinking of things. Like when most people think about Steelers even when it's wasn't so....they think Defense.....even when We would lose to team 43 -47, or some such. LoL.

But, they didn't win the SB therefore, defense doesn't win championships anymore......

That was a terrible job of coaching by Buffalo, the Bengals had three backups on the OL but the Bills only sacked Burrow once .

Ouch. Might not want to publicly shame your own $40 million a year QB.
