I just don't remember the last time we really dominated a team. I like us to win a game 58-0...like the seahawks did this weekend. We've won games like 27-17 or 27-20 which is good but not a dominating performance. we always play only up to the competition. This is very sad.

If you mean dominate based on a scoreboard blowout who cares ? You can play a team that gives you multiple gift turnovers in the same game resulting in multiple TD's and that doesn't necessarily mean you dominated the game. Good teams find ways to win period. I'll take a 3 point margin of victory in every game of the year including the SB if it means we win it all and I wouldn't be upset about the fact we didn't blow anybody out. The scoreboard is a bad indicator of domination. Kinda like our D which in spite of it's #1 rating can't seem to force any turnovers or get any kind of consistent pressure on opposing QBs both of which have been a problem for 2 years running now.

Agreed here. There have been LOSSES in which the Steelers have been the dominant team. I like a blowout once in awhile as much as anyone, but I'll take the 3-point win just the same as I'll take a 30-point win. The good thing about the 3-point wins is that those kinds of games are what prepare the team to succeed in the playoffs. The laughers just help you keep the starters healthy. Hmmmmm not a bad idea either.

Don't get me wrong, I love exciting close games! Bens 4th quarter comebacks are awesome to watch.

I like the Early Cowher years in 93 when they put games away at half time. 2 quick TD's and a field goal in the 1st half. Then the second half he would take the air out of the ball and just run the clock out. The games would end about 30 minutes early because the second half just flew by.

Defense was so good some teams had no hopes of coming back.

With Haley's type of offense it will be a long time coming before we blow out a team. Ding and dunk and runs up the middle. His type of offense is long time consuming drives that eat up the clock that in turn keeps the games close with the opposition always within reach.

This type of offense will never blow teams out unless we get a ton of turnovers and our type of defense just dosen't get many of those because we can't get to the quarterback like we used to and our DB's can't catch:facepalm:

While I would appreciate an easy game, a blow out isn't a measure of a dominant team, just look at your example, the Seahawks, that's a dominant team?? Really doesn't mean much.

Yep, and that's just as impressive - or more impressive - than a 58-0 win over the QB-less Cards.

I don't know about this. Our guys leave a lot of plays out on the field that cut drives short or kill them completely. Also, it's year one of the Haley offense so I wouldn't be too down on it as of now. Give it a year or two.

A team doesn't roll up 31-0, 35-0, 38-0, 42-0 wins without getting lots of turnovers. I wouldn't say that Haley's offense keeps them from these types of scores; it's the defense, incapable of taking the ball away.

When our offense gives it away 8 times in one game and our defense creates only 12 total for the entire year...that's a problem!

I was thinking of the Browns game in '05 (I think), when Harrison was on the sideline and caught hold of the fan that tried to run on to the pitch. I believe we annihilated them that day, and Harrison annihilated the fan.

At the time, I was still wondering why we were keeping 92 on the roster...

Obviously not our most recent blowout, but it sprung to mind all the same.

GB you are right, our guys leave a lot of plays out on the field that cut drives short or kill them, because this type of offense is a slower type offense with short yardage plays that take longer to score and that leads to eventual mistakes by someone ie penalties, break down in blocking causing a sack or loss of yardage or no gain in the running play. Basically were not good enough to maintain positive plays when we have to go 10 to 15 plays in a row to score. The Patriots can do this because they are more precise and disciplined.

What is the most points we have scored this year? It will take a lot for this team to score 30 plus with this style of offense or to even blow teams out because it takes too long to score and we are not a quick strike offense. I think this is designed that way because of what Rooney wanted to do last year in trying to protect Ben and back to more of a running game.
