Cautiously optimistic. Kenny’s second season will tell the tale. I was hopeful that he’d be working with a different OC next season, one who could really help with his evolution to a franchise quarterback. But it is what it is. I’m not as optimistic now with Canada coming back but I’ll remain hopeful because I think Kenny has what it takes to develop into a very good quarterback in the NFL.

I like that he's already putting input into the offense and changing things. If he takes ownership and shows growth, then there's some benefit to keeping the same coordinator.

Change the coordinator and he starts at square 1 and has to learn a new offense without the experience on field to fall back on.

KP will work hard to improve himself, I especially liked when he mentioned
he was going to work on his footwork. Mechanics is so important in the QB position
and should not be underappreciated. Note I can't understand that whoever
worked with Mason Rudolf neglected this very basic fundamental all his career????

I believe it was Tom Brady yelling at his line on the sidelines that he wasn't going to lose to "Kenny F---ing Pickett". It's like Shakespeare, everyone else is just quoting him. He should have copyrighted it. He'd be richer than he already is. He could afford to retire.

Man that's close. Thanks. I need to get one with his picture or name on it or something as "KFP" can mean "killing for pleasure" or
    "Kentucky Fried Puss**". lol

I bet as long as He plays well, and stays out of trouble....they don't care what Steelers fans lovingly call Him.

LOVE that KFP wants to bulk up. It seems like he has the physique to be a monster as he bulks up and ages a few years.

The existing OC brings no value whatsoever to Pickett. He needs to learn how to become an NFL quarterback by playing in an NFL worthy offense and Canada doesn’t provide that opportunity. The Steelers had the chance to bring somebody in (Frank Reich?) who understands the NFL game and could help Kenny take that next step and, to put it nicely, they blew it! I’ll be happy to eat my words if I’m wrong but Canada has done nothing at the NFL level.

    Yo
you’ve already seen KP influence on the offense down the stretch. His knowledge of what they have helps him be comfortable changing plays and protections as he rolls into year 2 and a full training camp at #1.

you throw another OC in there and change it all up, there’s more for him to work on and less time for him to fine tune what he already has. I think there might be another assistant brought in to work on making the offense more dynamic and fluid.

I hope we change several things up to get our offense in sync. Why is almost every reception a contested reception or a catch with a defender lurking nearby? Our offense must design some route concepts designed at creating more separation in the MOF and getting some opportunities over the top. Did you watch the Bengals and the Niners this weekend? Did you notice how open some of their receivers were? Now go back and watch our offensive highlights from this season. Kenny was having to thread the needle most every time he dropped back to pass. At a minimum, the Steelers need to bring in a passing game coordinator and I will be disappointed if they do not.

I need minimum 27 pass tds and maybe 6 rush tds and no more than 9 INTs out of him next year for me to feel like he's not repeating his college years patterns.

His experience on the field should be viewed as a totally separate thing from learning old or new offenses. If nothing else I'm hoping he picked up on defensive alignments, learned how to set up his protections, honed his pocket awareness skills, and did whatever he could to improve his accuracy, arm strength, etc.

:this!: All of this garbage about how bringing in a new OC would be detrimental to Kenny's development is ridiculous. When you have an incompetent OC, the best thing you can do for a young quarterback's development is show him the door and bring in a competent OC who can get your young offensive talent to the next level.

It took Brady half a season to learn Tampas playbook and run it well and he’s possibly the greats QB of all time, certainly one of the most cerebral QB’s to ever play.

There are arguments to be made for and against changing OC’s but it’s not remotely ridiculous to say it would set Kenny back to learn a new offense in only his second season.
