Since the Bengals were leading 7-3 when the game was cancelled, a good solution would have been to put 10 ping pong balls in a container. 7 with Bengal logos on them and 3 with the Bills logo. Have Goodell reach into the container and pull one out, the winner gets the home field. That would have been more fair than just telling the Bengals screw you you're going to Buffalo.

That's EXACTLY how it should have been handled.

Instead Gooddell was probably too busy counting his money than thinking outside the box.

The reason why the bills and chiefs are getting a neutral site is, the bills had a shot at #1 instead of the #2 they got.

It should be the same for the Cincinnati/Buffalo game. Cincinnati had a shot at #2 instead of the #3 they got

I had several long posts for this, but decided to be as simple as possible.

The only compensation being given or considered being given is between teams that have played a different # of games. That's it! Cancelling the Cincy/Buff game means it didn't happen, it's not a part of the schedule. Both teams played the same # of games one has a better record. If this were the old Play-offs with 2 byes, I'd agree with you, but both teams played Wildcard Weekend.

We will have to agree to disagree. Unfinished Season, and Unfinished game. Yet only one counts. I could see the argument, but both teams were in that Unfinished game. So they both had equal amount of that game. If You can use one....Unfinished....You should use both Unfinished.

There's your problem right there. You refuse to let go of the "Unfinished Game" thought. It's not an unfinished game, it's not an unfinished season.

They're only making concessions for teams with a different # of games played where there may have been an opportunity for a different seeding. Same # of games played means there's no compensation needed.

Game did not happen as it was cancelled. Cancelled game means it did not exist for recording purposes. Nothing that happened in that 7 minutes counts officially.
Regular season is over, Post season is happening.
Season will be finished and in the record books.

That's Your problem. It was a unfinished game..., and it was a unfinished season. The game was started....the score was 10- 3. I'm not imagining that. The schedule is 17 game....everyone played 17 game , but those teams.

The whole thing is moot now as the Bengals kicked the Bills ass all over the field in Buffalo.

Several non-Steelers fans I know are saying Bengals squandered their opportunity and Steelers and Jaguars will be the best teams in the AFC starting in 2023. High praise coming from Cowboys, Commanders and 49ers fans.

I hope they’re right, but Burrow is damn good. He may have a Brady/P Manning level of football IQ. That’s disturbing for a division opponent to have.

Yeah, but they will lose Higgins. Bengals will be drafting WR early.

Burrow is good for sure but some of the drooling by the sports media is ridiculous. Romo was gushing about the one "great throw" that hit his receiver in the helmet - had it been thrown more to the sideline it would have been caught. He also got lucky on the one deep completion that the defender didn't jump. It could have been (I know coulda, woulda) easily defended and was on a similar throw later for an INT. Seems like he's had some of that luck that Brady has had in games.

Congratulations to Joe Burrow for being on his way to this generation's Dan Marino. Losing the Superbowl and never going back.
