Nor do I think we will have to. He mentioned "knowing what to expect in FA" and has expressed wanting to remain a Steeler. He even talks about the organization like he will be here again next year. Team friendly but fair... That's where I see the contract being. I doubt he makes much more than 4-5 million a year despite probably being able to get a slight bit more on the open market. He knows his role, he knows the team, and is overall a really good fit for us. I would be highly surprised to see us not retain him in the offseason.

 

Imagine this as an elevator ride that gets stuck between floors for STD.

STD gets distracted because a guitar strap gets caught in the gap at the elevator door not realizing who are the other passengers and
Blast prods him by saying " So, You were saying the Steelers should get rid of Trubisky on offense and T Edmunds on defense because they suck. That's what you were just telling me before the elevator arrived, right?"

To me, the issue was that the replacement was so bad. The run defense was fine with Kazee in there instead of Edmunds against the Raiders, so I'm not buying this idea that they have to have Edmunds if they keep Kazee.

I don't mind keeping Edmunds if he takes another cheap deal and maybe that can help them get his brother to fill the void at linebacker, but that's about it.
