The last couple of years I started hearing run game coordinator, pass game C etc and I was just blown away as I looked at the different coaching staffs in the league and the amount of different perspectives. We have 22 or so people involved, that includes strength and conditioning. I do not have exact numbers but some teams have more, and it just shows how complicated and evolved the game has become.

I remember back in the 70's some teams had 12 on their coaching staffs, the Steelers had 7. Chuck Noll was getting complaints because he was not only HC, but also special teams coach. It was not being cheap, Noll loved doing it, it was him having that one on one time in an element he knew was important and was foundational. He loved to teach the game of football. In time he hired someone and gave it up, but its hard to imagine the difference..24 coaches compared to 7 lol.

This is what I was trying to say when some said they never heard of bringing in a passing coordinator. I mentioned that some teams outside of a OC have a Running coordinator, and passing coordinators.

Oh for the love of all get out.
Please don't mention the strength and conditioning coach. Sheesh, they've been bashed enough here. It's as bad as the duct taped weight benches.

Did your Jack Off session fail? I simply mentioned that some teams sites list the S and C as part of the coaching staff, that was it..now you can go back to conditionong yourself...may i suggest lotion to help your grip.

Draft O line. Decastsro and Pouncey were major contributors.

Vox, I'm just messing around with your post. You can search "duct tape" and it has a lot to do with how cheap the Steelers are. You can also search strength and conditioning coach and there are plenty. My green ink is out to show sarcasm.

Please realize i wasn't being a dick, butt the JO threw me for a twirl.

I missed the green ink. I do not take anything here to seriously. The cheap banter kind of amazes me as well, but it really can be discussed from 2 different levels. The Cap amount to the players is set, the rest of the money is football operations..and not every owner has the same amount of 'billionaire' cash to spend. Jerry Jones and Robert Craft have enough to on massage therapists for the players and themselves...Art Rooney maybe not so much.

Great point about the NG. I know its hard keeping the player on the field in passing downs unless he is truly special, but Casey Hampton and Vince Wilfork sure made their ILB’s look a lot better by taking 2 blockers and leaving the ILB free to make the tackle without having to take on a guard first.

Pouncey was the difference in winning and losing...SBXLV. He was injured and didn't play. And you judge him on his last leg with a washed up QB.

What about all the brilliant plays with AB and Bell?

    Short sighted you are!

People forget how much better the running game was with Pouncey. His athleticism in the running game allowed him to pull or get the 2nd level. His replacement was very solid, but Pouncey was a really, really good athlete for a center.

To good for a Center ..I always thought we should move him to Guard ..Him and DD would have been a great pair and opened our ability in the running game.. Not sure what the Steelers call it , but we called it 33 and 34 Quick trap ..The Steelers mainly only ran 33 as our LG'S couldn't pull very well..
