a little history lesson for you. Back in the 80’s there was this punk rock band named Minor Threat( pretty sure I’ve posted a song or two by them here). They didn’t put out much music, but are generally regarded as responsible for the straight edge movement. They also founded Discord Records and eventually Fugazi. I’m half drunk so that history lesson is probably missing minor albeit important details, but **** it

I'm really late on punk....I was more of a post punk Guy until way later. I promise You that bass player I talked about was completely flabbergasted that I didn't know who they were. LoL.

Hushed and Grim is a great album. For the most part the vocals are solid, and the vocals on the Beast are great. The writing is mostly really good. A few songs are throwaways for me, but mostly good. I have trouble with a lot of their prior stuff, mostly because of the vocals. For example, I started listening to the Last Baron and the music was drawing me in, but then the vocals started and sounded like a sick farm animal that needed to be euthanized. I was like “WTF? why?”

I cant listen to the Misfits without Danzig, just like I cant listen to AIC without Layne Staley.

Did You listen to the whole song...because it changes. Also when You listen to Crack the Skye album ..You should start at the beginning....it's a concept album. Yes some will be with stomach pushed throaty vocals, but most songs on there are a mixture of 3 vocals from 3 different singers...done in many different ways. Like the Beast it changes from the lead guitar player singing to the drummer, and bass player. I don't remember exact order...I'd have to listen again.

I'm a huge fan of EJ, but not of that tune. I couldn't tell You why. It just always feels like a who tune instead of a EJ tune.
