Some sites credit him with the Baltimore loss, because he started. He only played one series before getting injured.

Didn't realize Wilson went that late.

Now where is that guy who went 14-1 his first season counting Playoffs??

The starter always gets credit for the win or the loss, regardless of how long they last in the game. This isn't just some sites record. That is exactly how the official NFL stats record it. As fans, we know we didn't lose that game because of Pickett. Trubisky's 3 picks and a missed FG lost that game.

W-L is a single data point. I think a broader view would provide a more reasonable comparison. I would also look at attempts/completions, yards, INTs, TDs, sacks, runs/yards. At what point in the season did each QB come in to start and what was the situation that caused it? Was is due to injury, starter benched, suspension? How many 3 and outs, average yards per completion. There is a lot more to this if you really want to make a sound comparison of rookie QB seasons.

Now hold on son, it seems the great Wikipedia has errored. Go to Ben's page and the 2004 season states this, "As a rookie he went 13-0 in the regular season (14-1 including Playoffs)

Now go to 2004 Steelers page and Wikipedia has him 14-0 regular season (15-1 Playoffs)

And to think they are always bugging for donations;)

Im not saying your wrong and im right…but lets both look at possible causes for our futility on offense.
1- Pickett a rookie, did OC or Kenny prevent some of the playcalling?
2- now to our beloved OC… we struggled with BIG BEN at qb with our current OC… yet 90% of the blame was put on BEN?!
3- I dont know if you or anyone else noticed but when we play no huddle our offense improves significantly… Ben had massive success running no huddle.
With all this being said signs kinda point at our OC, but OC gets a pass coz he had a rookie qb last season.
    Thoughts?
4- offensive line was very suspect for first half of season also. Talk about something good… that line gelled and played whole season together. Hopefully that carries over to next season.

The OL did improve throughout the year which is definitely good. The improvement was mostly in run blocking. They are still bottom tier in pass pro.

I expect 30 plus passing TDs for Kenny next season. About 12 INTs.

    IDK

I found just the opposite on the internet so it must be true

ESPN calculates win block rates and the Steelers ranked 5th best in pass block rate in the NFL and 16th in run block rate

In the last 5 games they only allowed 5 sacks

I've been saying that the OL is getting a bad rap. They are not as bad as some say. Are they perfect.....No, but they got better, and some have only been together for one season, and , or with the OL coach one year.

The OL was not good to begin the season but by mid season they were in the middle of the rankings

I think Mac posted something to this extent

The problem is many people jumped on the lousy band wagon early and never checked back in

Same as the knuckleheads who look down on Pickett for his interceptions in his first games and ignore how he finished
