Are we cheap? How do you know? Tomlin is supposedly one of the top 5 highest paid coaches in all sports. The salaries of Assistant coaches, coordinators etc is unknown. So what are you basing this claim on? Is it simply because someone else on the internet said it and it sounded good?

Biggest Roethlisberger fan here...anyone on here can tell You.....but I never once heard people say He was the greatest Qb in the NFL.....but I would be rich if I had a dollar for every time I Heard A. Rodgers was not only the greatest Qb in the NFL, but maybe the Greatest Qb ever(I don't agree, but You would be lying if You said You never heard that), and McCarthy only took Him to 1 SB. That's not even counting when Brett F was His Qb. So...miss Me with that.

You need a defense most of the time to win a Super Bowl, along with a good qb

Well then that Coach should have got one then.
People are getting all Hype on Dallas Win over Tampa Bay.....who when We beat....everyone said it was because they sucked. Now Dallas beats them, and Dak, and Bullfrog McCarthy are like great. LoL.
Hell We beat them with a rookie Qb in His 2nd start, and I believe it maybe the only game We won without TJ Watt. LoL

Andy clearly has taken some indirect ques from Mark Madden if he is seriously spawning forth such an idea. I get that the team does need a WR.... but not a Z Receiver. A slot is needed and those usually are found in great supply in the draft; doubly so in the middle rounds.

Finding the right one though?!?!.... that is a different story all together.

    Who are the great coaches?
Look at Ben’s playoff numbers. Rodgers is 45td and 13-picks in the playoffs. Ben is 36-28.

McCarthy is better than Tomlin by a small tick, but that ain't saying much. Neither have done much of anything the past 6 plus seasons. They're stale. At least McCarthy was sent packing and probably will be again after maybe one more disappointing finish (Jerry Jones is too twitchy for me, though Rooney #3 is too comatose)

Meanwhile, real, actual good coaches are setting the NFL on fire and some of them are very young and look like nerds. I'd like to see Tomlin canned, but I am sure Rooney would just hire some old retread, instead of a confident, up'n'coming coordinator.

On the retread front, why on earth does Josh McDaniels keep getting hired as an HC when he is a human dumpster fire? He is one of the few coaches out there that make Mike Tomlin look like Vince Lombardi...and that's VERY hard to do.

I agree in the disappointment and staleness that Rooney has been driving here for years now however both Tomlin and Cowher were young nobody’s when hired. Granted both were defensive oriented but still. Not sure about Chuck he was before my time.

Noll was also an offensive lineman who couriered in plays for Paul Brown so he understood offensive concepts. Of course, those have changed pretty dramatically since Noll's time as a player and were quickly evolving when he became a head coach, although much emphasis was placed on the running game throughout Noll's coaching career.

Mcarthy has been in more playoff games overall than Tomlin.... so what does that mean?

Either he made the playoffs more often than Tomlin OR they squeaked in as a wildcard multiple times to play more games?

Stats can tell any story you want them to.

I guess McCarthy isn't such a great coach this week, they only scored 12 points in losing to the 49ers and their third string QB .
