Heard Peyton say this on MNF during the bucs/boys playoff game.
I know some folks have brought up such things pertaining to the Steelers, do you think Peyton's comments are accurate?

Is this just a player speaking and not a coach?
Do coaches do it but not players?

Are you referring to the clip they showed of Coach Prime giving half time speech? He seemed pretty vocal, though I couldn't tell what he was saying.

I think it happens more between coaches. The head coach having a discussion with the offensive coordinator why the team's best WR has 0 catches and only 1 target during the 1st half of the game. The Head coach asking the DC about an opponents WR that has 8 catches for 160 yards and has not been doubled teamed once in the 1st half. I think these kind of Ass Chewings happen at half time.

Vince Lombardi, wrote, as part of an explanation about building a team, “Praise in public; criticize in private.”

The clip I watched included Prime saying they were up 20 at halftime of that game. I'd say no adjustments needed.

By the time they get to the locker room, and split I to personnel groups, I'm sure there's just enough time to say "get it together" or "great job"

Bengals/Chiefs last season Playoffs. Bengals made huge adjustments at halftime and it sure paid off.

A team has 11 minutes to get off the field, go to the bathroom, meet with trainer, etc, and get back on the field. Adjustments are made incrementally throughout the game. The big halftime adjustment thing is a myth. A few weeks ago Manning said something about it. He was asked by a reporter what halftime adjustments were made his response uh the oranges were good.

There are definitely adjustments. It's been documented what happens during half time. For the coaches, there's a lot going on. For the players, not so much.

I think the bigger thing is it's a mental break for the players. It's basically a chance to hit the reset button. I played hockey, not football, but I can remember countless times getting absolutely smoked by the other team. I'd just keep looking up at the clock and thinking if we can just hang on until the intermission then we have a chance.

Tracy Porter is a firm believer in halftime adjustments.

I typically adjust what is in my cup at halftime but usually that is because it is evident by then that our game will go down to the wire again.

Half-time adjustments are very much a thing.
Some coaches do stick to the plan, some make adjustments according to what the other team is doing.
Joe Gibbs and company were masters at changing things up after the half.
Parcells was pretty darn good too.

I have to imagine a lot of adjustments nowadays are in real time with the tablets they all have on the sidelines.

You crack me up. A hall of fame quarterback sits there and says it doesn’t happen, but you claim to know better. Teams literally have 11 minutes to get off the field, into the locker room, and back onto the field for warmups. They’re not back there reviewing film.

Go back and read what I said. The adjustments are for the coaches, not the players. I'm well aware of what happens during halftime.

I think the world would be a better place if folks would adjust themselves half the time.

The Peyton & Eli commentary was a little whack last night. My girl said she thought Peyton looked like he had been drinking. And the Deion segment was whack AF too. That dude has to be the most narcissistic look-at-me guy ever. Can't stand that guy.

There are obvious in-game adjustments more so now with instant side-line tablet analysis. Prior to that it was the print-outs and I'm sure there always have been with binoculars up in the booths. So it makes sense that the coaches are more likely the ones that talk at half-time.
