And good coaches. Pickett is fighting an uphill battle overcoming mediocre coaching and preparation.

That is what a REAL NFL HC can do for a team. The bar is set very low in Steeler nation these days.

No, that isn't the issue with Garoppolo. Once again, your lack of knowledge has left you making a misinformed argument. Garoppolo has two problems. He can't stay healthy and he makes the big mistake far too often. The 49ers fell in love with the shiny new toy, Lance, and paid way too much to move up to get him. At the moment, getting lucky with a 7th-round pick is the only thing bailing them out, but let's see what happens when they face a team that can hang with them, and that certainly isn't the Seahawks.

I’m using your logic of when a system is good with a great offensive coordinator, with great weapons, etc… that equates to why someone is successful which is your logic with Brock Purdy. So I brought a similar situation comparable to San Fran.

I hate isinglass. It's hard to see out of when you're going upswell and get salt spray on it. Plus, it usually leaks.........not sure how it relates to football or your mom?

He made zero mistakes in that sb vs the chiefs. Only time he did was last yr and that was AFTER they got trey lance so I don’t think that factored into the decision. He just couldn’t make any plays when needed like mahomes did. All they needed was 1 throw and he couldn’t make it.

Ok we see Tua can’t stay healthy. Let’s see if Miami mortgages their future because he can’t stay healthy. Never heard of a team trading that type of draft capital over health.
It was because jimmy G is just a guy and they wanted to maximize their opportunity with the talent they have to win a an. Same reason why the chiefs got rid of Alex smith for mahomes because Alex smith couldn’t make the big play when needed. He and jimmy g are almost one and the same. Game managers but they couldn’t never make THE play you need to win a game.

So Purdy = Mahomes? A transcendent, generational player? I know that’s not what you’re saying, but that’s how your point can be inferred. It’s not a similar situation at all. Smith was a very limited player, and he was successful in the system, just not successful enough. Mahomes is a generational talent at the QB position. Mahomes following Smith is not the same as Purdy following Garappalo.

However, even a generational talent like Mahomes can fail without the support system. See his last SB performance when he had to try to carry the team without any quality O linemen. He looked like a rookie deer in the headlights during that loss.

    Evidence that Real Coaching Matters!!!!!

Evidence That Tomlin is the NFLs Worse Tenured Headcoach in reference to the hiring and developing of Asst Coaches!!!

Purdy will hit the rookie wall sooner or later. Roethlisberger had a great system with Whisenhunt in '04... and that came to a bitter end in the AFCCG vs. Patriots. I'm not sold on the 49ers. The Giants just might have enough D to make them sweat it out. Plus, Jones is playing the best football he's ever played at QB.

He threw two interceptions in that Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs. You have a funny idea of not making mistakes. That mistake of yours invalidates what follows regarding the 49ers.

The Chiefs realized Mahomes was special. Smith wasn't. I'm not sure what that has to do with the rest of the discussion. You think Purdy is special? You do realize that Smith had some big games during his career, too, including some with the 49ers.

Let's just not stop at Pickett, what about #7 what did he ever win in his last 6-8 years?
Other than an enormous cap hit the Steelers paid him, holding us up from improving our roster.

The next matchup for the 49ers will be Cowboys or Bucs

49ers will wipe the floor with the Cowboys. Not so much with the Bucs. Brady is dangerous in the playoffs... so we can never write him off.

We would have won as many playoff games during those years with Pickett starting

And he would have still been in high school for 4 of those years

The last extension for Ben was a mistake

Did they extend Ben before or after his elbow injury?

Purdy is playing with a lot of Confidence, which he should be the 49ers are rolling.

Coaching and Offensive Style of Coaching
I'll take Shannahan over Tomlin on that.

Offensive Line is way better than our line for the 49ers. Advantage 49ers

CMC has found himself again and is one of the best RB's in football and Mitchell is pretty good himself.
Not far apart. But I still put the 49ers ahead of our backfield.

Kittle is the #2 best TE in the NFL not named Travis Kelce, and truth be told the are pretty much like 1 and 1A in terms of the best TE in the league.
So they are better than Pat F. Pat F might be a top 10 NFL TE but he's not those guys yet.

WR's Debo Samuel and company, are better than our group.

So take all that in effect 49ers are a better all around team. Switch places of Kenny Pickett and Brock Purdy, you wouldn't see Brock Purdy nearly as successful as he is being.

But tip of the cap to Purdy, everyone passed him up, and looks like he should of went higher than he did.

But doing what he's doing I don't know how you don't continue forward with him being your guy for the next 10 years if your San Fran

If I got it right the extension was April 2019 the elbow injury was the following September

Although in 2020 they restructured his contract

The biggest reason why his last extension was bad,it was because he was washed at this point

Most pro players are done by year 12, Ben was beaten up even worse. So his last 6 years we paid him over 120 million for nothing.
    No playoff wins no nothing.

Yes,3 playoffs game between 2015 to 2018...Not great but according to your logic, the dolphins and the packers would have let go Dan Marino after 1985 (only 5 playoff wins in his last 14 years) and Brett Favre after 1998 (3 playoff wins in his final 9 years)

Easy to say that after the fact, especially when it's very hard to find a true franchise QB...Ben was still easily in the top 10 QB between 2015 to 2018 and his salary was not that high compared to other QBs who was over 30 million per year...Ben was around 22 million per year.Yes his extension was bad for the team in 2019 because he was washed after his elbow surgery
