It’s obvious now that Purdy is the next Brady. Sure, it will be nice seeing KP lead wild card teams and 9 win seasons, but he will never get us over the top. Damn, missed in the draft again…sad.

Not a fair comparison…. It’s a team sport where coaching has huge impact on teams.

Purdy support staff is much better than KPs

While Steelers are busy debating whether to keep Canada, and the fans are joyous for another non-losing season, Purdy is throwing for over 300 yards and 3TDs on his way to a playoff win.

Ok, then how about we don’t draft a potential franchise QB until we have a decent support staff?

He is playing really well. There is no comparison in the level of coaching Purdy is getting and what Pickett is getting. It's amazing that the last pick in the draft is playing this well. However it will take more than one year to compare him to Brady. I am glad to see the young man doing well

He has a Guru as a Offensive Play Caller and mad talent at skilled positions.. Deebo and MCcaffrey are both top 5 RB'S if needed to be both are elite pass catchers as well then also great at YAC ..Then you have Aiyuk another great WR who runs great routes and has top end speed.. Then you add Kittle top 1 or 2 best TE in the game .Even the BU RB is a home run hitter in Elijah ..

49rs are going to be a very tough out as Teams can't match up and play man and they have zone busters all over the place and with so many dual threat guys they can go 3 RB'S or 5 wide and everything in between from the same groupings anytime they want ...

All that you said is true. It doesn't change the fact that he was the last player selected in the draft. He is delivering the ball with confidence and making really good decisions. Maybe on another team he doesn't have success. However I think he has exceeded anyone's expectations

There a reason Pickens led the league in contested catches and the 49ers receivers seem almost always wide open.

I think everyone agrees with you. Steelers are making Pickett throw clutch at end of games, I don't believe Pickett lacks confidence.

I'm defending Pickett. It's not his fault he's surround by relatively crap coaching staff, bad OL, dropsy WRs, etc. Seems like it's going to be more of the same next year as well.

Steelers actually had a great draft. The only one we don’t know about it Austin because he was hurt.

Agreed. It shouldn't be Pickett vs. Purdy. It should be the everyone else but the QBs comparison.

Nothing we can do about it now. Just gotta go with what we have. Hopefully KP is an over achiever.

There's probably a few teams who are a little pissed they missed on him.

On a serious note. You're not saying that the QB we took with our last pick would be playing this well on the 49ers? This kid is showing poise you don't see in the last pick of the draft

Unfortunately, Steelers can't get their franchise QB in the 2023 draft because they don't have the last pick in it.

That is exactly what I'm saying. Shanahan is the best HC/OC out there. His disciples aren't even close. Almost every Qb He has worked with is automatically better with Him. Remember JMO

Actually, it should be Purdy vs. Oladokun. Yes, the Steelers missed that one. So did every other team in the NFL.

I wonder if Purdy would have even been given a real chance to make the team. Oladokun wasn't.

Just look at this play how much this is easier in the 49ers offense

And he has been the 49ers HC for 5 seasons, Purdy might end up the best QB he has had.

well I'm not sure about that. I see what you're saying but the QB has to have SOME skill in order to transfer that coaching to the field. I do wish we had coaching like that team has. I agree with you on that. Glad you have a sense of humor!
