I remember beating the Bengals, Ravens and Browns. I remember beating the Raiders on a very emotional night. I have more confidence about the Steelers heading into 2023 than fans of playoff teams like the Bucs, Ravens, Dolphins.

Tom Brady, Considered by some to be the GOAT of the NFL players was drafted 199th pick.

Whah, Whah, Whah...... we need a top 5 pick to be competitive otherwise we will always suck!:frown::crycry:

    Let’s see…

    A) Not in the playoffs and Top 5 pick

    or

    B) Not in the playoffs and 17 pick

Which one do you take dummy?

Easy. Competitive players who fight to win every game and don't give up because they *might* get a good player next year. Again, top 5 pick guarantees nothing, and often ends up being a bust. Top picks are great, but they are not the be all end all of football like you seem to think. Competition in the here and now, however.....

Easy, B because all you teach is being a quitter and loser. You’d never build a championship roster, they’d be full of slackers with you as a coach.

Anyone who wanted the Steelers to lose on the anniversary of the Immaculate Reception right after Franco died, is not or ever has been a Steeler fan. That night was magical for real Steeler fans.

The Browns have had high draft picks for years (and years, and years) and haven't improved much, if at all. According to your strategy, they should be top contenders in the NFL every year based on high draft picks.

Here are a few great players that were not 1st rounders:

    Tom Brady
    Brett Favre
    Joe Montana
    Aaron Rodgers
    Roger Staubach
    Dak Prescott
    Fran Tarkenton
    Johny Unitas
    Kurt Warner
    Steve Young
    Terrell Owens
    Thurman Thomas
    Russell Wilson
    Bart Starr
    Devin Hester
    Richard Sherman

And here are some 1st rounders that didn't work out so well, if at all (just a few, there are many, many more obviously)

    Kevin White
    John Ross
    EJ Manuel
    Corey Coleman
    Johnny Manziel
    Dee Miller
    Jake Locker
    Justin Gilbert
    Dion Jordan
    Trent Richardson
    Brandon Weedon
    Brady Quinn

Yeah, getting a few higher up spots CAN help, but it's not even remotely a guarantee, but it sure isn't worth a team taking on a loser approach of tanking.

Your whole strategy is to whine, cry, scream and belittle any success of the Steelers year in and year out all the while claiming boycotting the league is the best avenue to take when disagreeing about anything but then not following thru on those promises. Your point is on top of your head!

They got TJ Watt at pick #30, the Jets have sucked for over 10 years, but a top 5 pick .

The second one because that was a function of a team improving not regressing

But no one here expects you to have the capacity to understand

Man, JaMarcus Russell should be the poster boy for the latter group. My brother in law, who is a raiders homer, loves it when I bring that one up. Usually right after I reminisce about the immaculate reception and right before I remind him of the John Gruden fiasco. Lmao!
