I actually think Edmunds has been pretty decent this year. Great? No but solid. Yes, he's made mistakes but so has Minkah. What we can't know is if at times he's trying to do too much because of bad corner play. I think sometimes the guy takes too much heat because he was a first rounder. That wasn't his decision. The guy doesn't make any waves (The Panthers game aside) doesn't b!tch and moan and stays on the field. He's a serviceable first rounder, not a bust like Bush, Jarvis Jones or Artie Burns.

    More like no point.

You don't like him and want him gone. I don't.

    Agree to disagree.

Edmunds develop greatly over the years. Tremendous athlete, starter from year one, little depreciation, he almost had to catch on eventually. I don't think many teams would have waited. The turning point was Minkah coming on board imo.

Watson completed a whopping 9 passes against the Commanders.

    This.

After 2019, I had long given up on Terrell improving his Ball Skills. Now, 2020 was a surprise but not due to that. His overall game just took to new heights. While some of that was thanks to Minkah, the rest was due to Terrells continued improvement.

Again, I am not stating Terrell is a Top 10 Strong Safety in Football. I am stating that Terrell's value is severely underappreciated; doubly so in Run Support.

I like Edmunds and I hope they resign him. I was just pointing out why some fans do not like him.

I sort of agree. I can’t say Edmunds has been rock solid, but he’s been an average starting box safety with strengths and weaknesses. He’s subpar if we have him cover a deep section of the field. Im for resigning him at an average annual comp similar to what we’re paying him this season, but not much more.

Regarding Bush, I think he has a chance to have an Ok second half of his career as a true weak side OLB in a 43 front somewhere. He’ll Be more protected and better able to just “see it, get it” than he is as an ILB in our scheme.

Edmunds is probably our 3rd best DB and perhaps 2nd best DB on the field. I've rewatched him specifically on A11 as well as replies. I'm with AQL regarding Edmunds. If he was a 2nd round pick, it's doubtful most have an issue with him. I think he's an above average S in the game.

Edmonds to me is now a C+ just above average safety, not bad, but not great. I just think you want more for a #1 pick. He plays like you would think a third rounder should be.

because that happens so frequently in the millennial nfl and quarterbacks can’t slide without taking a hit.

How convenient of you to leave out the 3 touchdowns he threw

clearly everyone wants all of their first round picks to be future members of the HOF. Unfortunately in the real world that doesn’t happen. Now that we are 6 years into his career his draft selection really makes no difference at all. At this point it is crying over spilt milk. He’s a decent player and doesn’t cost the team a fortune.

Not crying over spilt milk, just giving my thoughts. I would retain him at the right price. He still stunk the 1st 2 years and has improved some. Still wasn't close to being one of the Steelers best or even good 1st round pick.

He is steady and plays average to above at certain times. That said I believe they will try to resign him. Minkah wants him back and continuity goes a long way.

Should he have been taken in the 1st round? No. But that is neither here or there at this point.

Bush? Yea he's going to make a difference in the passing game :lolol: Some need to up their prescription glasses if they can't see. Should be his last game in Black & Gold unless we make the post season. A major disappointment.

When people keep bringing up his draft position it most certainly is crying over spilt milk. Might as well bring up Jamain stephens as well.

40 posts of redundancy matching 40 other posts

    SMH

And all Austin said was “see Devin a little bit more”

Considering he basically hasn’t been playing one play would be more

    Much ado about nothing

I think this is just a PR move by Austin.

I would expect a similar plan of attack against the Browns that was used against the Ravens...

I laugh at all the Edmunds love.
I don't care if the MF was drafted at the 5 th round.
Hell I wish He was for one reason. He would be gone already. Where He was drafted has No effect on the man has constantly taken off away from plays, and ran the wrong direction.....not knowing where they are even going. Takes huge bad angles, is not that great of a tackler, and is a huge down side of a cover man.
He maybe a great Guy, but He is piss poor Safety.
I actually can't believe people watch games, and think differently.
I would be just as shocked if people came on here ,and told me they watch the sun rise everyday, and like how it comes up in the south. LoL

Nobody that thinks Edmunds is worth keeping can explain How the game He was out..... They shut down the league leading Rb, and the leagues number 3 Wrs....Won the game, and had 3ints.
It was one of our best D performances, and Edmunds was not even playing, but Yeah let's Resign him as a starter. LoL.

I think i remember Deshea Townsend saying by the time he learned where he should be on the field, his body couldn't get him there. (I might have heard someone say it about him or I might have dreamed it)
Terrell is still learning and his speed can still get him there, he might be ready to peak.
