The same with Ben/Brady/Manning. He used to take a lot of heat because he didn't make Pro Bowls. But with Brady and Manning in the same conference, there was essentially only one pro bowl spot in the AFC every year.

Without going back to look, I think that he had Pickett 3rd behind Willis and Ridder. He did a live stream video of the first round where he was drinking scotch and reacting to the picks. He was clearly drunk by #20 and laughed at Kenny Fricking Pickett (what he called him) being picked where he was. He really **** on Pickett and the Steelers for the pick. He's since deleted the video, but it was very disappointing to me because he's a very knowledgable guy who offers what I think is a great and fair analysis that actually can educate lay-people like myself about what to look for. He essentially turned into an internet troll for that one night. I enjoy his analysis enough, that I've given him a pass and still watch. We all do dumb stuff sometimes.

it means nothing if we are a perennial .500 team. it makes MVPs and HOF candidates if we win Titles and SB's.....

Kenny (and the Steelers) will have to contend with Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Lawrence and Herbert for years to come, in the AFC. it will be no easy task

No easy task for sure, but know body said it would be easy. We need a good draft and Fa Aqisitions. Our talent
evaluation needs to be spot on.

Lol, baby faced Kenny isn't growing one anytime soon. I don't think he can, he's still rocking the peach fuzz. Give him a few more seasons. Reminds me of a young Sidney Crosby having trouble growing a playoff beard.

    *edit*
I miss those days. Shaving is a pain in the ass.

I've been talking about the mental aspects of his game all along. Pickett is a smart, confident player. He's no going to wilt in the big moments.

That sounds right. One of Pickett's critics here posted that video to support his own argument that it was a bad pick. That's why I kept asking him who knows more about playing quarterback in the NFL, J.T. O'Sullivan or Kurt Warner? Warner praised the pick.

Spot on. Roethlisberger was known for not practicing well, but showing up for the game. He liked the broken play and former players frustratingly accused him of too much playground ball.

Felt this was a fair analysis. His criticisms are practically the same criticisms I had during the pre-draft process. I never really questioned Picketts arm; it was mostly his feet work. The one thing I noticed is he's not really throwing off his back foot as much as he did in college. Definitely an improvement in his game between then and now. I think we'll see a massive jump next season.

I agree he keeps his eyes downfield and perhaps just perhaps with the pocket collapsing so often particularly earlier in the year he lacks the confidence it will hold to just stop up or stay in there. The pass play where he hit pickens for the first the pocket held like you see on the game-day highlights of other teams scoring plays. Its rare we get that but if we upgrade to some studs on the line then we shall see if he can read and make progressions in the pocket.
