Yeah when I saw him go down and I saw that the hit was dead square in the chest, I had a sickening feeling.

The one good thing is the paramedics and team doctors would have attended to him right away. I do this stuff for a living. If you can get a defib on someone quickly, there's a very realistic chance of restarting the heart.

It's called a Blunt Cardiac Injury. If hit in the chest, it can can cause a heart attack. Happens in youth baseball when kids are beaned in the chest or pitchers taking line drives in the chest.

If the hit occurs at a specific time in the cardiac cycle, it can interrupt the electrical signal.

We seen a player many thought was paralyzed from the neck down. We didn't, and the team didn't know how good He was, and They made us play.
This is a horrible situation.
They should just cancel the game.

This is horrible. It didn't look that bad, but man, after he got up and then just fell......that's scary. The amount of time they did CPR and then took him in an ambulance doesn't sound good. Praying this is not as bad as it looks.

Yeah but I've never heard of it happening from a football or hockey hit. Typically it's when something smaller hits the chest, such as a baseball, like you said. Anything is possible of course, but I've never heard of a shoulder to the chest causing cardiac arrest.

I don’t know what they could pass on to the players that changes anything tonight. Best case, he is stable, worst case, well I hate to even consider it. But in either case, it’s tough.
