There is one other path to the playoffs that is not listed in my post.

If the jets beat the seahawks in week 17, The steelers would need a jets/dolphins tie in week 18. Which is kind of ironic... Last year we were all rooting against a tie on the final week. This year we could be, potentially, rooting in favor of a tie.

Don't want to start thread for this but was wondering how important is this game for Ravens?? They are in but I'm sure a home game could be involved??? I guess I'm hoping they rest their guys with little injuries for the Playoffs. Then the Browns come to the Burgh with nothing on the line but I feel we are going to smack them down. (little revenge)

The NFL can really turn on a dime it seems. Remember when we played the NFCE few years back? Well if season ended today all 4 teams would be in Playoffs. Gives me hope for our boys. I think 3 of 4 have made Playoffs at some point from the AFCN. Sure the hell know Steelers and Ravens did their part.

This is the time of year when I look back at all those winnable games that slipped away, and I grumble unintelligibly in my beer. In particular the last RatBird Game.

This is an important game for the ravens because, if they win their last 2 games, they win the division

He wasn't that day and I thank him. The cheats would have 7. The guy played with ice in his veins.

First of 4 games that has to go our way, goes our way. Pats beat the Phins.

I hate the Pats, but glad they keep the Steelers playoff hopes alive. To me, tonight's game against the Ravens is the key win they need to get to continue their momentum. Don't think the Browns will roll over either. Still have nightmares of Big Ben and the Steelers losing to them in a key game. Miami may be down to 3rd string QB for their last game; that's promising.

How bout that Ravens SB back in 2000. The great Trent Dilfer and was promptly rewarded with the exit door. Actually he had a good SB. Ravens won with defense that season.

Tough quiz: who was the last team to beat Ravens before their SB run? I think the score was 7-6. Not sure.

The Picksburgh Stiller's. The score was 9-6 and the Ravens didn't lose again that year.

Yeah but back then defense truly won championships. The games changed considerably now as it’s seemingly much faster.

All Dilfer had to do was not turn the ball over because the Ravens D was steel curtain-ish. Nevertheless, Dilfer managed to get a ring and an ESPN gig … and he STUNK !

I'm going back further here. I think that 7-6 score came to mind because we beat the Patriots (yes the same New England Patriots) 7-6 is a Playoff game. No way I remember that year.

I just saw that and that the Dolphins lost again. Would love to see these last two games mean something. Hopefully, the Seahawks can hold on and the Steelers can win tonight. I know the Steelers have quite a few close wins, too, but I just can't help thinking of all the ways they could have won just one of the games against the Dolphins, Jets, Patriots, and Ravens.

Two games go our way. Now they have to control what they can control.

The only team in the Super Bowl era to start the season 2-6 and make the playoffs was the 1970 Cincinnati Bengals (and, to be honest, they started 1-6). We're looking at something that hasn't happened in 50 years.

I have bad memories from needing other teams to help (Succop) but it does happen. Keep hope alive.

I still hate that guy. The Chiefs went entirely with backups and still had the opportunity to win the game there.

So have the Dolphins with all their
Wheeling and dealing improved from last year?
