If you had a crystal ball and knew you would get a Sauce Gardner then hell yea take that pick, problem is our crystal ball has been focused on Artie Burns types. The next issue is how much do you spend on that quality CB? It is going to be an interesting off season with the right OC this O has the core to be competitive, solidify the left side of the line is key, the D itself is far more concerning to me. The CB as mentioned, but inside LB and D line as well.

The Steelers OL coach is doing a pretty good job with the OL, look how bad the OL was in preseason, the running has improved and Pickett is taking less sacks.

Steelers O Line in preseason was atrocious they have definitely improved one of the few bright spots heading into 2023.

Weidl has built the trenches in Phila. The left side of the offensive line needs an upgrade whether LT of LG. And show that scrub Green the door. I feel Moore has improved but Dodson should be replaced but is making peanuts for 23. Could stay as a back up.

    They need a Nose tackle.

Besides Sutton they haven't been the best at drafting corners for some years now. Sutton will test FA. He isn't taking a low ball offer to stay here. I have been on board of bringing in a stud corner via FA. But if they feel their is a can't miss in the 1st or 2nd go for it. Can't hitch the wagon to Jackson III he has major back issues. Withertoast will be gone. Maulet is signed for peanuts for 23 and has made some plays of late. Wallace is signed for 23 but at a cap hit of 5,482.500. Pierre is a RFA.

Of course ILBer. Maybe Crowder can take a spot. Haven't seen enough of Robinson. Myles Jack is signed through 23. And hopefully they don't even entertain signing the fashion plate. Just swallow your pride Tomlin a mistake was made. Can't see them drafting one until the 3rd.

Strong Safety. Edmonds will test free agency and will get more play then last season. Kazee is an UFA and would be great if they can retain him.

Not a one year fix but i'm excited to see what Kahn and Weidl can build.

This upcoming draft will be huge with the draft capital we have. Really need to hit 2/3 first picks and those guys need to contribute right away.

I am still clueless as to why people think the offense putting up 13 points against the Raiders at home is a good thing. Why are people claiming we have turned it around with that 13-point output?

Who says that. I believe people believe that KP grew a bit on that last drive is all. At least that's How I took it.

I don't think anybody is saying that. I'm one of the many posters who liked seeing Pickett come through on that game-winning drive, something he failed to do earlier in the season, most notably against the Dolphins.

Putting together a game winning drive down the stretch shows growth for sure. Boswell also missed two kicks (not that 19 points is stellar either). Its not perfect, but in the cold and wind it was never going to be a high scoring game anyways. There was a lot on the line and they executed when it mattered the most. There is some level of growth in that.

We're looking for the small wins here. This team isn't going to magically start putting up 30 a game with Canada, a rookie QB, rookie WR1, and second year RB. WE need to see that things are getting better and that the young guys are progressing. They are.

I believe Mikah F proves your point very well. We needed Miami to do the hard part for us. JMO>

Implication of drafting D in the first 2 rounds is that O has turned it around. At least, that’s how I interpret it.

No....some like Me would always draft D in the 1st two rounds. IMO....all the rules help the O....so therefore....more of everything in building, and maintaining a team should always go towards the D.

About 70% of all draft picks are eventually rated poor to useless to never played

And yet a couple of numbskulls want us to tank thinking moving up a few spots will make a difference

I am excited about the possibilities. A lot depends on the QB development. Kind of wish Burrow was in another division. I worry he'll keep the Bengals #1.

TBH, I'm happy with the outcome of this season. I thought we'd start scary and get less scary as time went by. Granted we were blessed to play worse NFC division but they have given me a long excited wait for 2023-24 season. I really believe if Pickett could be an above average QB in all those silly stats the Steelers do have the players and potential to see double digit wins.

The number of recent 1st round picks released during this year shows how inexact the draft is. To tank for a better draft pick states you have a losing thought process and that extends to your organization. You build with what you have by doing the extensive work necessary to minimize the draft mistakes. Sometimes its immediately glaring, others you see promise and even takes into year 3 to see truly positive results.

Its a different era, FA and CBA contract limitations, CAP etc, but I was watching the games heading into our 3 SB and the comments continually marveled that every player on the team was "home grown". Beyond the obvious stars were some pretty good players, Jim Smith, Dirt Winston, Dwayne Woodruff. I understand FA, players rights blah, blah..but miss the old days lol.

They need a draft like they had in 2017, they hit on Watt, JuJu, Conner, and Sutton.
