Please please replace Canada with Slowik!!

He will be a hot commodity as OC if not this year definitely next year.

    He’s the 49ers Passing game Co-ordinator

Interesting, he did both sides of the ball as a coach. He is a Kyle Shanahan hire when Kyle came to 49er as HCs.Kyle brought him over for defense and later flipped him to offense.

    Bobby Slowik
    As a coach:
    Washington Redskins (2011–2013)
    Defensive assistant

    San Francisco 49ers (2017–2018)
    Defensive quality control coach

    San Francisco 49ers (2019–2020)
    Offensive assistant

    San Francisco 49ers (2021)
    Offensive pass game specialist

    San Francisco 49ers (2022–present)
    Offensive passing game coordinator

Maybe bring Duce Staley back as asst. OC/run game Co-ordinator…… I know that name brings back not so good memories BUT he does seem to be an offensive coach on the rise.

I googled Bobby Slowik and I can find out what he did between 2013 and 2017?

I want a more experienced OC in there to completely take over the offensive side of the ball that has some experience with developing young QBs.

Well I'd say he's been developing the rookie they are playing right now, but I get Your thoughts. Also how much of this is K. Shanahan???

On different sites (sometimes here) I've seen comments wanting to bring back some former names. This is not the way to go as the game as evolved the last few years. You need to bring in someone who has the experience from a current successful team (like this) and build around it. This O is young, needs some depth and a better line help on the left side, but there are some core players that are possibly legitimate top 10 or higher if given the right system.

My hesitation is the talent of Oline he is working with. The lions have a number of high picks and pro bowl caliber starters there.

I think it may work but I think a few more years may be needed for him.

Sounds like a potential HC candidate for some team needing to replace a long-tenured coach, such as, Bill Belichick.

I get the desire for more experience But…. He’s the same age Tomlin was when He became our HC plus he has more NFL coaching experience than Tomlin had. Also he is the son of a longtime NFL DC and his first few years were as an defensive coach on Mike Shanahans staff.

He probably understands NFL defenses well making his offensive job under Kyle Shanahan a bit easier. The few years between coaching gigs he was an Analyst at Pro Football Focus. He’s probably really good at watching and analyzing players, diagnosing games/schemes and running analytical numbers. May be a reason he’s having success in San Fran now.

CANNOT be worse than Canada. Let’s also remember we still have a QB Coach on staff for Kenny P.

If we are changing coordinators someone with a proven track record over someone new to the role seems to be in order.

How about the last 3 Coordinators we hired when it was their 1st NFL coordinator job. Canada, Fichtner, and Butler; not something you want to hang your hat on.

I should have just said Fichtner and then Canada and had my Mic Drop.
