Eli Manning wasn't even close to Rodgers. That's just silly.

Roethlisberger belongs in the discussion, but Rodgers was better in his prime. He hadn't even fully hit his stride yet when he picked the Steelers apart in the Super Bowl. Just look at his touchdown-to-interception ratios. For his career, 6.2 percent of his passes went for touchdowns and only 1.4 percent were intercepted. Roethlisberger's career numbers were 5 percent touchdowns and 2.5 percent interceptions. Rodgers won four MVP awards for a reason. That's not a knock on Roethlisberger, who is also an easy choice for the Hall of Fame.

It does, though part of what it tells us is that he just isn't ready. He was always going to be a project.

Manning and Giants beat the god Rodgers at Lambeau Field and then beat Brady and Patriots. Nothing silly about that. Roethlisberger never came close to anything Brady.

I'm sure Ben would have had a better record against the pats if the total number of points allowed would have been 14 and 17 points like the giants in super bowl 42 and 46

No question, Eli was very good in the clutch but the Steelers biggest problem against the Pats was by far the tackle the catch defense, especially between 2004 to 2016

This isn't basketball. Manning and Rodgers didn't go one-on-one. Also, Eli Manning played in the NFL for 16 seasons and 236 games in the regular season alone. It would be kind of me to say it is silly to make an argument about his career based on two games. Manning had two great playoff runs with defenses that mostly carried him in two Super Bowls. His signature play was a prayer thrown into coverage that was somehow caught. None of that overwhelms 16 years of being barely above-average. No, he does not belong in the conversation with Roethlisberger, much less Rodgers.

As bad as this season has been...we're doing good when we are arguing about Eli freakin' Manning.

My point is....Steelers and Roethlisberger never matched up well with Brady and the Patriots. Even our own rivals, the Ravens who we beat more often than not, competed with the Patriots much better than the Steelers ever did.

for some bizarre reason, we kept playing the same D over and over and getting whooped over and over. All of Pats owning of Steelers came down to D sucking large time.

‘I guess if they had changed the D to actually be effective, it would have been admitting defeat… lol

Ravens had CBs who could play man coverage and were much quicker on the D line than Steelers. That's how you beat Brady and Patriots.

If Brady ever had an Achilles heel, it was pressure from the middle...the D line. Brady was too quick and decisive for the outside rush which the Steelers specialized in.

Because of schemes, and styles make the matchups.... ...Just like Brady, and Patriots never beat Cam, or Lamar.....Yet We have almost every time. Styles make the fights.

And those same man coverage styles that Belichick likes to play get Him killed against the Cam, and Lamars of the world.

To this day...the 2011 win over the Patriots was a complete miracle. Arians called a perfect game...his best as Steelers OC. Mendenhall ball control and the defense didn't bend enough to break. Great game called by Lebeau too.

That's ancient history, I'm talking about the last few years. Steelers desperately needed a QB to replace Ben, they could've had Hurts in the 2nd round instead of the bust Claypool. Just bad drafting as usual.

Yeah and we only had 20 years to make one adjustment. The 0-16 Browns gave the Patriots a better game

Yes of course, but NE is a predominately Man team.
Every team switches, but all teams are predominately one , or the other.
