No they count just in a pathetic type of way. Trust me we didn’t win the SB that year I think the Pats were up on us by 30 in the first quarter :shrug:Wake me up when we are actually contenders again friend.

If you think winning 3 playoff games in 12 years while having a first ballot HOFer at QB is “good” have at it Bubba. They all count obviously but it shows the only times recently we have actually won a playoff game we had to have Cincy go basically criminal and mental at the end of a game or play studs like Matt Moore or Alex Smith :lolol:

Yet You don't use the same going the other way. Like the loss to Denver after We lost L. Bell, A.B, and DeAngelo Williams, and had to play with a Rb I didn't even know was on the team. So Denver should just give up their SB trophy from that year????

That was actually one of the most impressive playoff games recently because we were hurt bad and I think a bad fumble killed us late. Could have won that game.

Im not saying anybody should have to give up anything obviously luck of the draw in the tournament is huge to being able to win it all. Think of our wins in 05 and 08 we avoided NE both times. We all know what would have happened otherwise.

Im saying we have really underachieved in the playoffs for more than a decade and some of the wins we got lucky playing weak QBs

We may have lost to the Patriots because the same reason they lost to the Jets....,and We beat the Jets. You build 1st ,and foremost to win Your division. Finally We can go back to that instead of always worrying about the Pats.

Let's say hypothetically we squeak into the playoffs and Beat the Chargers with Justin Herbert 3-0, Go to Cincy and beat the Bengals with Joe Burrow 3-0, then go to KC and beat the Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes 3-0, then win the Superbowl against TB with Tom Brady 3-0. Somebody like you would complain that we really shouldn't have won a 7th Lombardi cause our Offense was so terrible and we didn't really deserve it.

False. If we win a SB I don’t give a godamn how we did it. I wasn’t complaining about missing TB the two most recent chips but I was sure glad we missed him!

My post was about the most recent scarce playoff wins and how they really were not all that impressive. The Denver game we lost was much more impressive IMO

On a side note our offense is terrible and we don’t score TDs

I would love to make the playoffs. Pretty cool to be thinking about it after the **** start.

That said, this is a ridiculously low bar for me. I grew up with Chuck Noll and Joe Greene. I remember in high school us all bitching about how we didn't beat Houston by enough in a regular season game. We expected to go to the Super Bowl and we didn't like any punks putting up a fight on the way. Excuse me for not getting excited about the standard being not having a losing season or making the playoffs and losing.

In 2005, the Steelers beat the #3, #1, #2 seeds to make the SuperBowl. They beat the NFCs #1 seed in the SuperBowl. They didnt avoid anyone, they played the top 3 seeds in the afc and the top seed from the nfc

The Miami and Bengals playoff victories were against backup QBs. I agree with what you said just pointing out the Bengals had a backup QB also. It’s a li worse than you implied.

The immaculate reception was December of 72’. That was a playoff game. Are you saying the 5 years are 67,68,69,70&71?

Yeah it’s a dumb statement. If everyone’s chances were 50/50 all the betting lines would be even. Hmmmmm

Was that the year Denver beat TB? I know the 2010 year it was the Jets. Or was that the year Brady tore his knee up?

The whole non-losing season is a lame stat, but last time we started 2-6 and finished with a non-losing season we won 45 games the following 4 seasons and won the AFCN 3/4 times.... This would be a HUGE building block for the future if our team can turn it around. Would be great for Kenny and the young offense, and would be great for a team that is looking at having 3 picks in the first 50 selections in next years draft (not to mention the possible 50ish million in cap space). Gotta earn it, but would love to see it.

Agreed. All the Tomlin lovers will be upset that you are not happy with non-losing seasons. Which by the way isn’t necessarily a winning season. So we are supposed to be happy with non winning seasons! Awesome!!!!

Someone brought up a good point in another thread but the extra game and playoff spot basically means a crappy team more than likely makes a playoff bracket because of it.

Pretty soon NFL will be like the NBA where 60% of teams make the playoffs.

#2 Denver beat #4 NE that year. It still doesn't change the fact that the #6 Steelers beat the top 3 seeds in the AFC.
