Let me be clear. I still lean towards replacing him, however we better be correct in getting his replacement or we could really set back Picketts development.

with that being said there are some valid reasons for not being so quick to get rid of him.

    1. How can you accurately evaluate the offensive system when you have a rookie QB, rookie WR and essentially a whole new offensive line? Sean McViegh and the Rams offense has been terrible and he is a Suoer Bowl champion, offensive guru and has a Pro Bowl QB and Pro Bowl WR driving the offense. Their offensive line has broken down which completely made the rest of the offense inept.

    2. Kenny Picketts development. Offense is so much about cadence, Rhythm and confidence. You introduce a new Offensive Coordinator and you lose that and start all over.

    3. The offense has improved recently and is projecting to get better as the young talent gels and matures. Perhaps it is predictable right now because it is simplified for all of the young talent in it. My question can it be a lot more innovative and unpredictable or is it what we are seeing now?

    4. The run game is finally improving along with the line which has opened things up for the passing game. To me this shows it was more about the players and less about the scheme.

    5. dropped passes, sacks and penalties are still stalling drives. Is that a scheme problem or a player problem?

    6. the bigger question here is this system QB friendly? Is Canada good for Kenny’s development? If he is building confidence for Kenny and simplifying the game for him to allow him to be comfortable and grow, then I’m all for keeping Canada. If he is asking too much of Pickett or confusing him then we have to get a coordinator in that he can grow with. We have all seen when a top tier QB and offensive system don’t mesh well like with Russell Wilson and Hackett.

I dont think keeping Canada helps Pickett more than starting over with an OC that actually has an NFL ready offensive scheme. I agree with Steve Smith ( that hurts just as much to type as it does to actually say ) that Canada's offense belongs on Saturdays. Pickett will grow leaps and bounds more with an actual coordinator that knows what to do in the NFL.

A NFL ready OC would be way better, heck if we had 3 run plays with 3 QB boots off of those same 3 for QB keppers with 3 different passing routes off all 3 boots and we could run those both ways it would be like rocket science compared to simple math ...

Then lord forbid you expand on those with dfferent sets and different types of pass cathing eldgibles to exploit mis matches ... This is how you build a playbook , not select by number play calling .. Our young Offense needs a scheme and to start slow just as I stated above develope your bread and butter its simple to me..

Run 1st. use PA ,all plays build on 1 another , simplify a young QB'S reads, develope route trees that force the D into mismatches and now youve got something..

I swear I could put together a better attack than Canada their has to be a better OC available than him..

Hey, off topic but was wondering if you do anything to honor #21 on the day he left us????? I always wear his Jersey N.Y. Day. I bought the Jersey when I was 150 lbs. I am not near that weight today but I put it on and my wife laughs all day:)

I have only ever worn a Clemente Jersey. I have never put another mans name on my back other than his or my own. Every New Years, I wear his jersey, say a prayer and have a drink in his honor. I then take the jersey off and dont wear it again until next year.

my guess is that he will be here.

    we will wallow in mediocrity.

    that is what Rooney does.

the good news for me is that means plenty of Sunday golf in the fall!!!

He can like him, but he has never had an experienced NFL OC to compare against. It would be nice to have someone like Frank Reich.

We saw what Canada did with Ben - a VERY experienced QB. Everyone said Ben just didn't fit Canada's system and that may be true. I am ok with waiting until after the season to replace Canada so that Kenny doesn't have any more thrown at him. After that, Canada needs to go back to college football.

Eric Bieniemy , Byron Leftwich, Brian Callahan, Greg Roman, Kellen Moore ,Mike Kafka, Scott Turner, Todd Downing and a bunch of QB coaches who may be ready for a move to OC as well as the handful of college OC'S who light up score boards ...

Is Bienemy good because of the HC and Mahomes? Same cand be said for Leftwich. I don’t know the other guys. I think anybody from San Francisco tree is worth a look. They have shown success with multiple QB’s.

I 'm not sure any current NFL OC would do a lateral move

Also four OCs who failed at HC
    Frank Reich
    Bill O’Brien
    Matt Nagy
    Nathaniel Hackett
