No. It was dumb. I already said that. But some people will make a bigger deal out of it than what it is cause it’s Edmunds.

You’re right. I should have said it was extremely dumb.

I have to watch it again, but I thought the call was for a player who was not in uniform joining the celebration. That was Edmunds, not Daniels. I'm not saying we need to crucify him, but man, was that a stupid thing for him to do.

Daniels was out there also. Not sure if that’s allowed or not. It’s all pretty silly anyway. Every team seems to do it now. Anytime the defense gets an interception they all run to the end zone for a group celebration. At one point there was video screens in some endzones that seemed to stimulate the celebrations. I get it though, you make a game changing play and you want to celebrate.

I know Daniels was out there, but I'm not sure that violates a rule. Edmunds absolutely violated a rule.

    My gray cells got
a little foggy over the last couple of days

I believe it was a defensive celebration and Daniels is offense so he also would have had to come off of the bench

    Multiple infractions maybe

It was definitely dumb of Edmunds

Dean Blandino said during the broadcast that the rule against a player who is not in uniform joining the celebration was a point of emphasis. That applies to Edmunds, not Daniels. I'm not even sure if what Daniels did was illegal.

Can you actually picture Mel Blount running down to the endzone to celebrate an INT? It is the stupidest thing these players do that is just embarrassing. Yeah be jacked up, but running 40 yards downfield to act like an idiot is something I wish they would get rid of.

I agree, but it seems to be encouraged by the NFL. If not what’s the purpose of having a camera guy there to record it all?

Edmunds is who he is. He should have been a third round pick not a first. He's had some decent games but overall has played well below the level of a number one pick. I'm not surprised he was out there in civilian clothes causing a penalty. There was an offensive lineman out there as well. Total lack of discipline on the team. They know better. I don't dislike Edumunds for this bonehead penalty. He is not an elite safety and never will be. He is an average or below average defensive back that eventually will hurt this team with his play. It's time for the Steelers to either move him on or cut his pay to reflect his ability. Either one is good with me.

In a sense, they already cut his pay when they brought him back on a one-year, $2.537 million contract this past offseason. Maybe he gets a little more next time around, but that is cheap.

Yeah I think you're right. Probably as cheap as you're going to get a guy for that position with any experience. I wonder what his rookie contract was worth per year?

Never mind I looked it up. He got over 5 million as a signing bonus.

Honestly I will. He is one of the weakest points on the D.
I've felt this way since His 3rd year in the league. I take awhile to judge a player, but My opinion of Him has went down every year.
    I repeat....
Without Edmunds on the field .....
We Held the number 1 rb, and number 5 Wr to....
Rb- 44 yards.....Wr- 15 yards....., the whole Offense to 10 points, and had 3 ints.
IMO....this is more proof that We should move on from Edmunds.

It's not against the rules for a player in uniform to come off the sideline for a celebration. The infraction occurs when someone comes on the field not in uniform

He is a below-average player. The problem with moving on is the Steelers have so many holes to fill. They my have to settle for below-average again.

I have never seen a player in street clothes involved in an End Zone Celebration before this.

I knew I had too but couldn't remember where. It was a Bengals player in the Super Bowl.

Are you asking? It was right after Sutton's interception.

I'm not sure he is a great full-time option there. He is a bit small for strong safety. Also, I believe Kazee is a free agent after the season, too.
