So... form what I can gather, Steelers have to win out, *and* one of chargers/miami need to lose out.

So... 3 wins for steelers, and 3 losses for either chargers or miami.

    Is that correct?

Only the Pats game meant much. The Steelers play Cle next week and have to beat them, so what they did today didn’t matter. And chances are that TN with 9 wins will win the AFCS and not factor in the WC.

the Steelers started the day with a 0.7% chance of making the playoffs (per 538.com). The results this afternoon rose this to 1%. A win tonight it goes to 2%. A loss it goes to zero. A win tonight loses by LAC and Mia tomorrow sends it to 5%.

Also need the Jets and Patriots to lose at least one more game. Need the Jets to lose at Seattle next week and need the Patriots to lose at Buffalo the final week. The Steelers need the Patriots to beat Miami in New England next week and the Jets to win in Miami the last week. Why it’s critical the Jets lose in Seattle next week so it gets them to 9 losses and they can still beat Miami the last week and it has no impact on them making it.

Good news for that Packers Dolphins game tomorrow is Green Bay got a lot of help today in the Wildcard race as the Giants, Seattle and Detroit all lost and Washington is currently losing as well so they have a lot of invective now to win that game tomorrow in Miami to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Mostly yes, but if NyJ beat Sea and NE beats Buf, and each beats Mia. They’d both have 9 wins and would eliminate Pit.

Dude! Last season's final weekend was the most entertainment from a football day I've ever had! Recall:

It's always better to have something meaningful to cheer for.

Ok, but the point holds. Cle winning or losing today meant nothing, since the Steelers have to beat them anyway to have a chance. And that would have sent Cle to 8 losses and elimination, even if they’d beaten NO.

Texans beating Titans makes a Jag division more likely

Unbelievable that the Steelers actually have a shot of making the playoffs with this huge win against the Raiders. Crazier things have happened I suppose.

I don't think I've ever been more proud of a 7-8 team. My Cowboys and Commanders fan relatives have saluted the Steelers.

Few weeks ago we were debating trading down from a top 5 draft position. Today we looking at playoff possibilities. Crazy season indeed

Still need a Packers win over the Dolphins later today or a Colts win over the Chargers on Monday night. If Miami loses to Green Bay today then next weeks scenarios you would need Steelers over Ravens, Seattle over the Jets and Patriots over Dolphins. If that happens then it would indeed come down to the final week of the season for the 7th wildcard spot with the Steelers still being alive and well.

If dolphins and chargers win their game vs GB and IND,the steelers are out for the playoffs and they will only play for pride(avoid the first losing season for Tomlin)

I think at least one of the Dolphins or Chargers lose either today with Miami against Green Bay or tomorrow night with the Chargers at Indy. If Miami loses and Chargers win we become Patriots fans next week along with Seattle fans as we need them to beat the Jets to put them at 9 losses. If the Chargers lose to the Colts and Miami wins we become LA Rams fans next week. If they both lose then we become both Patriots and Rams fans next week along with Seahawks fans

Wow. that seems pretty high considering all the things that need to happen.

Question: Controversial, but it seems several years in a row now we say this. How the hell has Tomlin managed to keep this team in playoff contention? You gotta give the man one thing, he never loses a team mid-season.

I have been one of Mike Tomlins staunchest critics but I have to give him credit again on getting this team playing well as of late and having a chance to make the playoffs again. A truly unbelievable task from where we were just a few short weeks ago.

5-2 last 7 weeks, they've been playing for more than just pride and future contracts.

Let's not overlook the fact that the AFC is pretty much a train wreck this season. There has been a lot of underachieving across the AFC.

and the NFC south(the steelers are 4-0 vs NFC south this year). The others win for the steelers are against the Josh McDaniels Raiders, the Jeff Saturday Colts and the bengals when it was week 1.The Steelers can't be blinded by the recent wins, especially not on Matt Canada
