yea, used to have a great uncle that made baccala every year. everyone that ate it smelled like garlic for the next 3 days. dad made homemade ravioli this year. g-ma used to make them and lasagna as well as every dang thing you can imagine. we used to go there and it was wall to wall people and then you would go out one door to the other aunts and uncles houses. one family would be coming in one door while others were going out the other door. this went on all night on Christmas Eve. they all lived on one street pretty much. one house to the next and end up back at the beginning. eating stuff at every house. homemade wine. always dago red. most are gone now, so it's up to me to carry on as much as i can and pass down. I love this season. my favorite. :drinks::smiley1::cool:

This isn't technically food for the game, but since it's the same day....my wife promised the kids that she would make these for them this morning, but she had an anxiety attack in the middle of the night and didn't fall asleep until almost 8AM. Since she promised the kids, she asked me if I would make them so she could finally sleep. So this was breakfast today:

I've never fried quail. I always bake it. I will have to try it that way.

My wife's Lasagna. I don't know where she got the recipe (she's as Irish as the Blarney Stone), but it's as good as any I've had. Her sisters will cut you for it.

I long for the old days when we went to grandma's Christmas Eve. She prepared a hunky feast that was a pleasant assault on the senses. Halupki's, pierogis (I think half a dozen different varieties}, kielbasa, kapusta. Then there was ham, and piles of homemade cookies, nut rolls and the good old ancient Kelvinator refrigerator in the basement full of ice-cold beer. Damn we had a lot of good times there.

I cooked patties shaped like holiday stuff (tree, star, sleigh — cookie cutter), mashed potatoes, and Brussels sprouts.
