No discipline under Tomlin, he needs to be cut ASAP. He shouldn't even get a free flight back to Pittsburgh, that's how bad his penalty was!

The exact word I used - punk. He should have been escorted to the bench for the remainder of the game.

I was borderline giving up my Steelers fandom if he was still employed by the Steelers after Tuesday this week. Pretty brash... but like most of you that's how mad at the moment I was about it...

But, Tomlin likes Marcus Allen for some reason so he probably won't go anywhere.

I am a PSU homer (Marcus Allen is a former PSU Player so I have watched him a long time).. the only thing that Marcus Allen brings to the table is NFL special teams ability.

Trust me if you can't remember the past you do not want to see him playing MLB.. you think Spillane is bad... just watch Marcus Allen get destroyed...

Marcus Allen is a tweener, not quick enough for safety, not big enough for linebacker. So special teams ability it is...

But, you can't make a boned headed play like that when your a tweener.. it will get your cut.. or more likely it will prevent you from getting a game day helmet.

It took away a triple sack Watt, Highsmith and Heyward........ 4th and 27..... the defense couldn't of been happy with him. Cam addressed it with him I guess. But good for Cam he's a captain that is what he does..

I would like to see Tomlin lose his poop over it with a player for once..... but he's a players coach and just doesn't seem to do that.

But the same could be said about DJ granted DJ has a longer chain (an $18 million chain) than Marcus Allen. He got a 15 yarder after picking up a 1st down.
Luckily they still scored the TD. Tomlin talking to him normal about it, almost arm around him treatment...

But late in the game when your driving to pick up the 1st down and run down time. DJ completes a big catch and gets up and still jaws...

This isn't anything new to the game. Heck I remember Hines Ward and Joey Porter two of the biggest mouths' you meet on the NFL field.

But there is more emphasis on calling Taunting now and as a player you have to be more aware.

But Marcus Allen had no business being in that huddle... none what so ever. especially when your a borderline dude to even be on the team.....

My first reaction was that I wanted him cut. I haven't changed my mind.

In a sense, I have a bigger problem with Johnson because he kept doing it after his stupidity hurt his team with the first penalty. In his mind, he probably thinks it is fine because he made a catch two plays later to help them overcome it, but he's wrong. His behavior was stupid and selfish.

The same is true of Allen, who is nowhere near as valuable to the team. I don't care if Tomlin flips out on someone publicly. I don't need to see that. I would like to see some tangible discipline, which would be cutting Allen today and fining Johnson.

This sure was a chippy game for an NFC opponent (the Panthers and Steelers have a close working relationship) . Maybe the Steelers players confused their cats and thought this was the Bengals...

I agree it may have been boneheaded and stupid but not worthy of being cut over. In my opinion in his defense, the Panthers were huddling on the field on our side of the LOS. I think he thought he had the right to be there too because it was on our side of the ball. I actually think he could have been allowed to be there for that reason and I think the issue is with the refs. If the Panthers want to huddle, huddle on their sideline or on their side of the LOS! Was that a personal foul for real? Was he actually doing anything wrong? I mean he was on the field for the next play and they were on our side of the ball....the NFL has issues and this is one of them, I think him walking over there could be construed as a heads up play and could have possibly heard their plan for the punt or a fake or whatever.

I wouldn't cut him for that penalty as stupid as it was but he should be suspended for the Raiders game and miss a game check.

It was taunting. He had absolutely no business being there. It is the soft of lack of discipline that has haunted this team for years. Cutting him would send a message, one that should have been sent a long time ago. The guy just isn't important enough long term to put up with this sort of idiocy.

Hanratty's idea isn't a bad compromise. Suspend him for a game. I would go farther, but that wouldn't be awful.

I know he was flagged for it, but was he really in the wrong? The Panthers didnt call timeout and were huddled on our side of the LOS. Why couldnt he go over there?

I know Marcus owned it after the game saying he needs to be better. Does anyone know what he said? He seemed pretty mad about the penalty to the degree I wondered if he actually did anything unsportsmanlike.

You don't cut a player automatically after a bonehead play like that. If you did both Allen and DJ would be gone. I have no idea what he was doing. Not sure if anyone does. He's a marginal player for the Steelers as a special teams guy. I suppose you could cut him without much effect on the team. How about DJ? Cut him? I'm willing to let the coaches make that decision. If anyone could explain to me what the hell he was doing I'd appreciate it. I've read nothing about what he was doing only that it was a bonehead penalty at a really bad time. These players today have to act out. From the stupid celebrations in the end zone to thumping their chest when they make a play it's all about me. At some point that attitude will cost you.

Yeah, that was pretty dumb on his part. It’s no wonder we are as bad as we’ve been this year. This team lacks discipline.
I hope they definitely hold him accountable.

Screwing with the other team like that is taunting. Yes, he was wrong.

You have different standards for a starter like Johnson and a marginal player like Allen.

Were the Panthers really huddled on our side of the LOS? If so, I don’t think he’s doing anything wrong by going over there. I still think it’s really dumb and I obviously don’t know what he said when he was over there, but what would be illegal about what he did? I don’t recall him being overly animated and getting directly in anyone’s face.

Like I said, it’s a dumb thing to do, but if this happened on our side of the LOS, the refs needed to take that into account.

The ball was on the PIT 39. Panthers and coach(es) were grouped at about the PIT 45, way over at their sideline. During the timeout between quarters.

    Stupid move, regardless.

The league has gone soft, he was on the field of play, I dont see anything wrong with what he did actually the more I think about it. If they want privacy do it on their side of the field.

On the field of play on the Steeler side of the ball.....he had every right to walk over there, timeout or not, he was on his side of the ball.

It was an immature move by an immature player, who thought he was having fun at Carolina's expense...... Pretty sure he wasn't thinking that he would be hurting the team....... Personally, I think most of you are blowing thing way out of proportion
